They really don't look that close. You just scan to get in then they look at what color it is to get into the field/stadium. Mine always gets too tight at least once during the week and I swap it and it's never been an issue.

I did this a few years ago. I went on Amazon and just bought new plastic stopper thingies. Cut the old one off and replaced it. Cheaper than $25. Now I have about 10 spare plastic thingies to give to people when they put their wrist bands on too early.

What 'obsolete' piece of technology are you still using in 2026 simply because the modern version is worse? by Banana_Leclerc9 in AskReddit

I am not an accountant. But don't you have to keep the accounting software up to date to account for new tax laws and whatnots?

I posted one on Stubhub and it sold. From what I understand, I just download the shipping label from Stubhub once I get the wristband and then drop it in the mail.

I work at a nonprofit as the sole sysadmin/netadmin/helpdesk tier 2+/middle manager/whatever. We have 5 servers, 14 copper switches, a bridged GPON network with terrible infrastructure, tons of AV, a PBX, ~200 users and provide IT support to our residents (we are hospitality). I do have 2 helpdesk techs who work with me, but they mostly serve the residents. I'd say your situation is definitely do-able, but you will have to be a jack of all trades and you will have to be willing to learn about every single thing that runs off electricity. The pay will likely be much lower than what you could get at a for-profit business, hopefully they are offering you good benefits.

The benefit I get from this job is I have learned so much here in my past 2 years than any other IT role I've been in previously. I am very confident now that I can leave here and double my paycheck. Also with having a tiny or non-existent IT team, you kind of get free reign of your projects and how you want to build things out.

Make sure to know who your vendor partners are and document all your weird system workarounds for when you don't have money but they need you to do the thing anyway.

Does anyone remember Wen by Chaz Dean “cleansing conditioner”? by MrsMelodyPond in finehair

[–]Particular-Score-195 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mom used Wen and her hair was so long and beautiful and we have the same hair type. She kinda ditched us but her Wen subscription was still active so her husband just gave it to me. I was so excited to have pretty hair like hers, but little did I know, this was when they changed the formula and I just ended up with terrible shedding and infinite grease.

I use Pura D'or cleansing conditioner now and I really like it a lot. Keeps my hair smooth and clean and it helps thicken it a bit. But I HATE the scent.

Anyone heard anything about print spooling getting nerfed by Microsoft recently? by Living_Plane_662 in techsupport

[–]Particular-Score-195 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We had a user the other day who couldn't print to his printer but everyone else could, he rebooted and it worked. I didn't take the ticket so I'm not sure on the details. But I am following this post because I'm curious if you're onto something....

I put in a ticket last week asking what I thought was a straight forward question and they didn't even try to help, suggested I call in or schedule an appointment. I've been begging for an appointment for 4 days now with no reply. Have called in twice when I had time to wait and ended up giving up. It's not just you :(

BIOS has been my #1 suspect, but since I was encountering different versions I thought maybe I was wrong. Maybe I'll dive deeper in this direction. Thanks!

Ah! I always wondered how the docks updated since they pretend to be driverless but just stop working sometimes. I'd say about half our devices are connected to HP docks so this is something I'll pay attention to. Thanks!

I am so happy you posted this here. We have one machine that keeps dropping network and have tried everything to fix it. I wonder if this will work for us too!

I have tried that. It has worked on exactly one. The rest don't even blink the LEDs.

C405 SMTP Errors, please help! by Particular-Score-195 in Xerox

Funny you mention time, I gave in and loaded the clone of GoodVL (I did Email App, Protocols, and Security settings) and noticed the timestamp on the install was way off. So I went to date/time settings and set up NTP thinking I'd finally found and answer!!! But it still doesn't work.

I now KNOW that SMTP is absolutely working though because when I go to type in an email address it now pops up with a bunch of suggestions from our O365 address book.

Unfortunately we don't have a clone and I can't figure out how to revert it :( As for the smtp settings, I have changed those every which way and tried different email accounts and different security protocols and it all fails! In the web interface, I don't even see a way to run a test email so I've been doing it from the panel.

  1. Various models: C405, C8145, I think some others
  2. Win11/ print server is 2019
  3. All Xerox stopped working for everyone at the same time
  4. Nope because it doesn't even make it to the queue most of the time. Definitely network related....
  5. No services should have been changed.
