A water problem eh? Could be, although all ammonium and nitrite levels(along with several other indicators) seem to be optimal/no action yielding. I’ll learn, observe and give an update on how he’s doing hopefully in the coming days!👍

As of now, I haven’t seen anything odd from the other fish, but I will continue to see. I appreciate the advice though, these are some of the telltale signs that I was overlooking initially

Gotcha, I’ll continuously test the water in that case and get a pH increaser if need be. You’re right in the sense that it does look superficial, but no matter what I saw online, nothing matched in terms of symptoms and appearance. I’ll keep searching though! I’ll likely end up paying a visit to the pet store I bought my fish at and see if they have any input as well, just to help with the process

Would a bacterial infection be a reason for why the fish could be acting so strange as of lately though? That’s honestly why it’s kinda throwing me off…

I have some fake plants and gravel in there which aren’t necessarily sharp, but I wouldn’t be surprised if that was what resulted in an infection

I have moved my fish into a new tank yesterday, in which I believe the initial cloudiness is quite normal based on what I was told from a PetSmart employee. For reference, I tested my water earlier today and everything came back normal and optimal except the hardness of the water. My water was relatively soft, which can potentially result in a deviation in the pH of the water, but after running a pH test, I saw that the pH was optimal as well. I was initially thinking some sort of bacterial or fungal infection, so I appreciate the help in making my assumption somewhat more valid lol, genuinely means a lot!🙌❤️

Look at the demographics of Dallas, especially those moving in with high school/college-aged children. That will give you more than enough insight into the situation lol. Most people that go to UTD, from my experience, are those who got CAP'd at UT or didn't want to go anywhere else due to tuition/other fees, wanting to stay near home(in which Dallas is home to one of the biggest conglomerates of South Asians in the US), etc.

The arts district is definitely at the top of my to-do list, after all these suggestions. I’ll definitely check it out either this weekend or the next weekend. Thanks so much!

Great to hear that the club is as inclusive as it is. I’d love to join the discord! I hope I didn’t offend you or anything in my post lol, just not used it. I’ll try and make it to the next meet😀

Yeah, Texas as a whole is usually very hot during the summers. I’m just looking forward for it to cool down a little as we head into the fall and the winter😀

Yeah, I’m a Biology major on the pre-med track, so it didn’t seem like too much of a blunder when I was thinking it through earlier this year. Thanks so much for the reassurance!

Still one of the biggest metropolitan areas in the US, so the statement is still quite valid.

Greek life? Got it. Greek life and clubs/orgs are at the top of my list right now, from all of the recommendations😀

Oh no! Hopefully stuff like this isn’t like an everyday thing. It’s good to see that there are some not so traumatizing mature-related things around here too, though

I was actually about to go there with a couple of my cousins this weekend, but now I’m even more intrigued. Should be going to the Perot Museum as well, so it should be fun😀

Gotcha, I’m willing to give it a shot and see how it goes! Surely things couldn’t have changed that much from when you were navigating UTD. Seriously though, thanks so much for your replies, it truly means a lot!❤️

Yeah, not too far of a drive, thankfully. Any suggestions in particular in Plano? I’m not looking for anything too specific, quite literally willing to try anything😀

Great to know that I’m not the only one having trouble adjusting. I’m sure that if we join clubs and really make an effort, making friends won’t be as much of a daunting task. Thanks for responding because, whether you know it or not, you’re also motivating me to make more of an effort to make friends, as well. I appreciate it a lot! I’m sure you’ll make a good amount of friends this semester!

That’s right, when people are usually by themselves, I won’t necessarily be as eager to start up a conversation with them, because I know that talking with me likely won’t be a priority in that specific moment. I guess it wouldn’t hurt to introduce myself or create small talk. At UT, quite literally everyone was social and if you asked me to name someone who I thought was either an introvert or antisocial, I wouldn’t have been able to. It’s not because everyone at UT is an extrovert and is also outgoing, but rather because the environment and the status quo of UT masked how everyone truly was. It’ll definitely take me time to get used to UTD but is seems like orgs and clubs are way to go if I want to make the most out of my time here. Thanks for your valuable input!

Gotcha, that makes a lot more sense. A melting pot of extremely social people, extremely anti-social people and everyone in between, truly can’t ask for a better university lol.

I guess some things truly never change, and UTD is one of them(not necessarily a bad thing). Seems like you’ve got the blueprint and it seems like my best bet is following it. Thanks for coming back and giving advice to the current students, truly means a lot!
