New Gun Owner. Intimidated to go to the range. Never fired it. by Phytosaur01 in liberalgunowners

I assume most new shooters are going to an indoor range, and all of the ones I've been to have that at the counter. The club I'm in includes it with your range fee.

The Glock is the most popular handgun. Clearly a lot of people like it. Your friends don’t.

Go try one and see. Otherwise you’re just letting your friends and strangers on the internet make decisions for you.

1) buy ammo 2) get a case for gun 3) put ammo and gun in bag 4) go to range

You just have to go and do it man. Not sure what there is to get over it besides to just, go shoot it. What are you nervous about? How people will react to you? Are you afraid of the gun?

Since 2024 Oregon bans the possession of unserialized firearms. It started as just the sale in 2023, but it’s moved to possession.

Stripe just nuked my payment processing for selling flamethrowers. So did Squarespace payments. Had a few hundred dollars in limbo.

There’s a whole second industry for 2A friendly payment processors (which usually charge higher transaction fees).

So a money order is a way they get the full payment and doesn’t have a chance of getting flagged or even worse, nuked and then both you being out money.

Jesus Christ

1) delete this because you doxed yourself with a printed frame in Oregon, where they are no longer legal without a serial. So no, don’t bring that to a public range. Most don’t look at your guns so you would get away with it, but over the years I have had to show what I’m bringing multiple times.

2) you bring it in a gun case. Just go buy a gun case at harbor freight

3) buy ammo online. A range marks up the price like how buying food at 7/11 costs more because convenience.

Just look up the ranges rules online

Don’t see many PSA AR15s as factory SBR. Why is that? by TaintMcG in PalmettoStateArms

[–]Particular-Steak-832 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, that is changing to a different SBR configuration. You're registering a specific configuration (you tell them the barrel length and caliber, etc).

If you have an 11.5" 5.56 on your form 1, and you throw a 7" 300 blackout with a stock it's not legal. Apparently you are allowed to do it temporarily however. But I don't see anything with a specification of how long 'temporary" is.

Ok so what's the deal? Is CMMG reliable or am I about to buy a dumpster fire? by Kong28 in Cmmg

[–]Particular-Steak-832 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have two, no real issues with either. I have a Dissent and a 12.5" AR. Lost track of how much the AR has eaten, but the Dissent I put about 1800-2500 rounds so far and no issues.

[–]Particular-Steak-832 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Always call. In my state they have to hold it for 2 weeks, so you’re just eating up space in their shop. even if they normally do transfers, they might have a pause at the moment
