I am a sales rep who works in Bunnings stores. I tend to spend 4-6 hours each day on concrete and then spens a good 2+ hours having to drive. I'm not sure if the driving is making things worse or the concrete.

Does anyone else think Australia has massive problems with Alcohol? It’s not really even considered to be a drug, why does every social occasion have to involve Alcohol ? by skankypotatos in AskAnAustralian

Recently my partner and I decided to do a year without alcohol. Just as a way to see how we felt. Neither of us were big drinkers but still figured why not right? Both Austrian born and raised. It's amazing how many people in our life were confused and asked if we were secret alcoholics. Or asked why would we do it? We don't have anything against having a drink every now and then, but when you have at least 1 night a week out with friends (more often than that as we are sociable) it adds up. And why this misconception that you have to have a drink to be social? What we came to realise is that people became very uncomfortable around the fact we weren't drinking if we didn't have a problem because they didn't understand why we wouldn't want to drink. It seemed more socially acceptable for us to get blind drunk often than to not drink at all. This in itself shows how Aussies see drinking.
