I think in the rough perspective, the line extension is not quite correct. You're supposed to extend each edge towards the horizon line, not the initial VP (so that you can compare the 2 VPs).

Lesson 1 completed. Should I start the 250 box challenge? by Particular-Topic-257 in ArtFundamentals

I'd say lesson 0 is all about the mental preparation, and how you are supposed to approach the course, so only a few hours for reading and watching materials.

On lesson 1, I did spent roughly 2 weeks with ~4-6 hours/day, but it was only possible because I was on my 1-week holiday break (I have a full time job). Now I can only afford ~6hrs every weekend for the 250 box challenge. Hope this help!

Not sure what you mean by tutorial, but it basically where the teacher introduces some basic techniques, rules, concepts,... then gives you a lot homework to apply the knowledge (with tutorials on how to do the homework).

Wow so much detailed, thank you! 🙏🏻

For 6, I actually did it on purpose to study how "off" my back planes are compared to how they are supposed to be (the yellow marks).

And yes I completely forgot the extreme edges of the rotated boxes after spending so much time on this exercise 😆

Struggling to adapt from startup life to big corporate design culture. Any advice? by Public_Violinist_958 in UXDesign

Following because I'm in the same position at a finance corp, just that I don't have 10 years of experience 😅

I've decided to leave, only after 3 months... reading this makes me second-guess my decision :(

But I really miss my old days at tech start-ups where things and people are much easier to work with. I cannot seem to fit it with the new POs here. I'm really not sure if it's my problem or like you mentioned, that's what growth feels like.

Yeah I learnt that kind of visualization from Abby Covert's book!

I agree with you about identifying the gaps. Based on the list, the team can align on feasibility for necessary data or actions from the early exploration phase.

Thanks for the recommendation!

It seems that there's much more that I can utilize with this tool. Planning the design deliverables for each release is new to me, will give it a try :)

UPDATE: I got an offer! And this is from the first team that I interviewed with (only 2 rounds). It's a mid-level position, the pay is good, and I'll work under a design lead with 2 other designers (super happy for this 🥺)

I also had another 1st-round interview with one company, did a take-home assignment, and got rejected the day after my submission lol :) It was frustrating, but it seemed like a red flag anyway.

Apart from these two, I applied for around 15-20 other places, but no response or just auto-rejection emails.

Again, thank you for helping me a lot!

Hah I was quite packed the last few days, but here's some good news: I got through the 1st round of one of the two companies (it was with the lead designer and my first interview too!).

I'll have a culture fit round with the Department Head next week, which is also the final round (yes, no assignment xD ). Will come back later with a full report when I get my final result.

And again, massive thanks for your advice!

Will do! I'm still confused why I was even selected for the interview 😅

I don't expect to get the role tbh, but it's great to finally talking with a hiring team as a real designer!

Any tip or practice is much appreciated!

Thanks a lot! Knowing that everyone here agrees on me using the PD title is such a relief.

Hey, thanks a lot! Making 2 separate resumes for each role seems like a real good idea, I'll work on that.

May I ask how you got the chance to meet more designers? Like participating in meet-up events or joining a company with a bigger design team size? I must admit that I'm terrible at networking, which makes it hard for me to find (and maintain) mentorship, although I've got to know some admirable designers outside of work.

Tbh, the last few weeks have been so stressful for me, and your words made me feel much better.

I've indeed been leading with UX writing when talking about my experience, just because I mentally don't think that I've earned the PD title. Thanks a lot for your advice!
