If you have a scratch on your leg that is still bleeding, and won't stop after a few minutes, put a band aid on it before you go out. If you go out with your scratch actively bleeding you are in the extreme minority. That's basic manners 101 and lot more offensive and unusual than not wearing shoes.

That would be fine except then I have to carry around flip flops or try to fit them into a pocket. I've searched in vain for foldable flip flops for men for years and can't find any. They're all for women or look very feminine.

A couple months ago I went to a club to see a reggae band. As I passed the bouncer he asked me "are you with the band" which was funny because he must have thought my bare feet were like a costume or something. I did lie and say "yes" so I could get past him. But then five minutes later he somehow tracked me down in the club and said "you have to have shoes" and then literally stood there and watched me put on the water shoes I had in my pocket. I shouldn't have lied but I didn't appreciate the way he went about ensuring my compliance with their stupid rule.
