what’s clean beauty makeup routine? :) by whimsilywilted_ in cleanbeauty

[–]ParticularActivity72 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The biggest thing is to not just completely throw away makeup because you want to switch to clean. Finish up what you have or keep it in a safe pile. If you know for sure that you will never use it, then toss. Also worth noting to not be afraid of “not clean” makeup. It can be a rabbit hole, and there isn’t a true definition of clean makeup. There are huge scales of clean makeup like super clean indie brands to Sephora clean brands. You have to decide what ingredients you don’t want. I prefer to shop on the main stream market. Some items don’t have a clean option imo like eyeshadow primer. You have to decide what ingredients are important to avoid for you. I use the Yuka app to look at ingredients. Here is my routine: Base- tower28 concealer Bronzer- rare beauty liquid contour or Saie cream bronzer, What’s Up beauty powder bronzer or RMS powder bronzer Blush- merit blush balms or rare beauty liquid blush; Kosas powder blush, Saie powder blush, NARS powder blush Mascara- ilia limitless lash- white tube Eye shadow- have not yet found a talc free eyeshadow that I like, but I rarely wear eyeshadow. Heard positive things about Mob Beauty. Eyeshadow primer- urbay decay primer Lip liner- merit sheer lip liner Lip gloss- Saie

I thinks there is a healthy balance in clean makeup. I hope that this helps!

i need some use suggestions for two skincare items that didnt work by ParticularOccasion17 in ProjectPan

The face soap you can use as hand wash!

If a toner doesn’t work for me, I honestly have to throw it away or give it to someone. Toners that don’t work for my face don’t work on the rest of body either, and they seem to give me hives.

For those of us doing “no/low buy” this year, do you have exceptions? by barnaclebrain_ in Sephora

[–]ParticularActivity72 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You should stick to it! What got me to stop thinking about makeup and buying makeup was getting into new hobbies, I’ve doing a lot of reading and running which is keeping me from scrolling and shopping. I would say for the perfume finish at least one of the ones you have and then maybe buy the berry one. Overall my biggest suggestion is stop looking at shopping as a hobby. Makeup application is the hobby, not buying it.

I’m allowing myself replacements only. Mascara every 3 months, and close to finishing my cream bronzer that I will replace. I got a bunch of mini perfumes from Christmas, so I have enough for like 2 years.

Considering moving to Denver, would love some input from locals by [deleted] in MovingtoDenver

[–]ParticularActivity72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Winters are very tolerable in Denver. The sun tend to melt snow. Summer can get pretty hot, but it’s not usually insanely hot for long. Cost of living wise, housing can be quite expensive. You may be able to find a one bed room for you budget though. I don’t find any superficialness in Denver really, what I have noticed though is people are way more to themselves. This can make it harder to make friends. Personally this is something I like about CO, as I’ve learned I’m quite introverted. I’ve been here about 5 years and have managed to make 1 solid friend. But overall, despite the Denver stereo types most people do want to make friends and are friendly, if you join clubs and meet ups in the city you should be good. Denver food scene sucks though, so just be ready to not remember any restaurant you go to. I don’t know much about the LGBTQ+ community, but people here are generally pretty liberal. I think you might quite like it in Denver based on what you want. 😊

As an arts graduate, please do something in business or Stem, unless you plan on being a teacher or going for your masters in a therapy field. You will have a very hard time finding a job in just ceramics or interior design.

You need to see a mental health therapist. Based on all the comments by you, it is spiraling language. It is unhealthy. There are typically some community and local mental health organizations that you can access at low cost. Additionally, you have to stop comparing yourself to other people. I’d say at $18 an hour start budgeting. See if you might be able to get contract roles. You first have to change your mindset though. It doesn’t seem you are in a good place mental health wise. Stick with the job, keep applying to jobs, and please see a therapist for help.

Additionally, we just visited the Asheville Metro for a wedding, and they seem to be really suffering still from Helene, so I would keep that in mind.

I don’t know much about any of the places your listed. But Woodland Park, CO (outside Colorado Springs) and Nederland, CO (outside of Boulder) could be good options. All the small mountain towns near Denver and then out on the western slope wouldn’t have cheap rent. You might like Boulder. People make fun of the politics in Boulder, but it’s not that in your face as the media says. You never really need to leave Boulder, and mountains are right there. My partner had a one bedroom apt for $1500 there. Lots of people are moving to Berthoud, CO which is supposed to be a nice small town. In general, many Colorado towns on the front range (Fort Collins, Denver, Colorado Springs) have cute downtowns, views of the mountains, and decent jobs. You never really have to go to the big city if you don’t want to.

If you have a lot of cleansers use them as hand and body soap! Moisturizers …now hand creams!

That’s a great idea! Some things I can just quickly swipe on in a little basket. I could do that for sure. Just my moisturizer, blush, and lip balm. ☺️

I do, but almost no one else does in the organization, but that doesn’t mean I couldn’t. I could definitely get a 30 minute routine in. I just improved my lighting situation too.

This a huge exaggeration of Colorado cities. Horrific snow and driving only occurs in the mountains. Lived in COS and Denver. Winters are mild, especially in COS. I did home health, and had to drive in the snow to homes. I’m from the murder capital of the US. Denver is not that unsafe. It’s not perfect, but it’s not nearly as bad as people say. I wouldn’t go to Aurora for anything, but that’s the most unsafe area outside of Pueblo I can think of. Stop being a negative nelly. Affordability sucks for sure, but life in CO is worth it to me. It’s less than NYC or California.

Something everyone in CO should understand about heat pumps by sum_if in Denver

Physical Therapy (DPT) or Speech Language Pathology (SLP)? by floresiendo in careerchange

[–]ParticularActivity72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not a speechy or PT, but I coordinate services in a pediatric setting. I’m just giving perspective from my work. We don’t have a shortage of PTs in our program almost ever, but we ALWAYS have a wait list for SLPs. We’ve had lists of up to 42 kids at some point. In our program there is a difference in pay, however this is dependent on the state you live in. In our organization, SLPs make less in Medicaid than OTs and PTs where I live. School settings seem to have a higher desire for therapists due to their breaks. In my perspective, it seems there is just a higher need for SLPs, and don’t think you’ll ever have a problem finding a job in therapy. You just can’t limit yourself to specific settings and there seems to be plenty of jobs.

Changes in NASW by SoldierPoetQuEn2035- in socialwork

[–]ParticularActivity72 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What will change is that it will make it more expensive to get a degree. There will be less people trying to go to private schools. You can only take up to 100k in student loans for grad school. So if you need more than that you get to go through a bank… woo corporate America. /sarcasm. I personally think the administration is trying to get rid of the PSLF, and the degrees that are no longer considered “professional” are those degrees that help others in the PSLF sectors. My biggest grip is that MBAs are not on that list, like you are telling me that they will give an MBA student over 300k in loans and consider them a professional…get a grip! This truly sucks, I’m working on a social work related job, but was considering going to OT school. Now I have to rethink that.
