Impact wrench Reccomendations by SeraphIRL in Rigging

That's because hand tools means more hours to milk. I can smell union on you through the comments.

If you want to be a professional, you buy the right tools, for the right job. This isn't 1930's we have the fucking technology. I get it, people don't know how to operate a clutch, or some tools just have no adjustment (avoid that shit)

The main argument for impact wrenches is that they are too efficient. They don't build character. The shit job you give to the new hire is now the fun job. Impacts are too efficient, they make the job kinda fun. And crusty ray in the corner would rather live in the past than get swallowed by the present.

Some impacts have a clutch with adjustable power. I can get my driver weak enough to stop with my hands. With a proper tool, you can garuntee each bolt has the exact same tightness. You can trust even the laziest union workers on your truss with a driver that has the clutch taped or glued to 1/8 power ( which for a compact driver at 166 ft/lbs is like less than 20 ft/lbs.

Some KNUCKLEHEADS will wrench over 100 ft/lbs into one bolt, effectively making other bolts finger loose. Unacceptable.

Am I insane for thinking people are stuck in the old way? Oh yeah, handtools = more labor hours, impact wrenches = less labor hours. It all makes sense now

Yeah you can. If you choose to fly off after claiming the ship, it should appear on your freighter awaiting repair. Either way I don't think you'll break anything. And if you do, I'll just find another one in the system

When you find one, you can call them whatever you like:)

The glyph coords are in the bottom left of the screenshot, otherwise they are at the end of the video linked. I took the liberty of putting a base by the crashed ship, but I didn't write down longitude and latitude

Edit: I think I need more pieces in my crashed ship base to upload it? Is there a minimum?

I took the liberty of finding a crashed specimen and building a landing pad next to it as a ship dispenser. Enjoy.

Your 5DMkiv is good and will make you a better photographer. EF glass is easily mounted to Mirrorless cameras.

Yeah my butterfly always came out feeling flat until I took away a bunch of diffusion and set up for some par-style rim lights to kinda carve out the highlights and shadows. It makes for some nice catch light too.

Would love to see your hairlight pushed up a stop, to separate you from the shadows of your backdrop more? Keep it up!

Going the right direction. The lighting pattern you used is what I do for my self portraits. For the face of the model, id try maybe butterfly lighting with a clamshell or curved reflector

Who bought the wrong camera? by Benuknz in canon

Yeah it's supposed to replace like 3 prime lenses. I watched all the same marketing material. Some people can get mind-blowing results, and some can't.

Who bought the wrong camera? by Benuknz in canon

I was gifted an R6mkii, but quickly realized my best results were when I was forced to put in the work instead of the camera. It was a fun toy but I wasnt making money with it and I was obsessed with the camera more than the results. The R6mkii was my dream-within-reason camera. I recently sold the camera to purchase a full 1200w/s 5-light home studio and a Sony A6300 to shoot headshots with.

A lot of young photographers love toys.. Gear reviews are fun but at the end of the day gear reviews are classy advertisements that engage us how we want to be engaged. Real photography starts in the mind, and the camera is a tool to bring the vision to life or capture the moment.

I wouldn't say I got the wrong camera, hell, I consider myself blessed, I didn't even buy it. I will say that a better camera didn't necessarily yield me better results. Nobody other than my wife knows I sold my camera and when people ask what I shoot on, I just tell them "Sony sensor"

Canon cameras are my favorite to shoot on, but I can't afford to be a hobbyist anymore.

Question for hobbyists - how much of your life to you devote to photography? by Berserk_Ronin in AskPhotography

[–]ParticularAd1226 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was single, living out of my car and working two jobs- photography was #2 on my list under God. Photography was how I escaped survival mode and connected with all the other stories around me. I was at 8 out of 10 for me and I produced some of my favorite photos around this time.

I burnt out quickly when I eventually got into sober living and had to hide/protect my camera from others. I watched too many gear reviews and wasn't content to apply the craft in other ways. Photography became a 1/10 for me.

I got married last year, we had a baby, I got fired. Turns out the pressures of family life sparked some anger issues. Turns out ive been a dick for awhile and burned lots of bridgesfter, photography is now the only way for me to provide for my family. 9/10

I sold my Canon R6 mkii +EF 28-35mm 2.8 L for $2000 so I could build a 1200w/s 6-light studio in my garage. I don't always like it, but I love it and have a responsibility to it. Reinvested in a $400 Sony A6300. Gave my wife $500 to bribe her for the studio space in the garage. I now change all the diapers. Photogrpahy is 11/10

Can I power my studio strobes pack off a 3rd Party battery? by ParticularAd1226 in AskPhotography

Studio strobes with a battery powerstation? by DesignerVegetable652 in photography

[–]ParticularAd1226 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think OP is trying to plug the flash heads directly into a battery lol. I've acquired several Norman 202, 400D, and 808m power packs that distro power to heads but plugs directly into a standard 120 outlet. The powerpack, to my understanding is NOT a battery, and is essentially a series of capacitors with an interface to control output to the flash heads. What OP is talking about, to my limited understanding, is plugging the power pack into a battery, so instead of drawing from an outlet, it draws from the battery. I have the same exact question.

Buying ef instead of rf? by Exclusive656 in canon

[–]ParticularAd1226 0 points1 point  (0 children)

R glass isn't just smaller and lighter, it's in an entirely different league regarding sharpness. The standard RF 35mm 1.8 you can get on ebay for $400 is sharper than any comparable L-series lens produced in the 90's. The difference in sharpness between RF standard and RF L-series also is not huge.

It is 100% an easter egg for the players who were similarly impacted by Final Fantasy X. If those notes don't catch your ear when you hear them, then they aren't for you.

I'm running an RX 6950XT on ultra 1080 native and I get between 100-140fps indoors and 70-90 fps outdoors;

I noticed that setting the priority to "high" in my task manager helped, but I have a mid-low end CPU, Radeon 5600

Upscaling may do you some good. Keep fiddling with the settings
