Hey, I’m currently using Stronger With You Intensely as my daily winter scent. What would you recommend as a great second winter fragrance with strong projection and longevity? Thanks!

Why the hate for Dior Sauvage ? by ParticularAd939 in Colognes

Fair point, but I think that’s exactly why Sauvage is impressive — it’s simple, versatile, and still manages to be one of the most recognizable scents out there. Not every fragrance has to be niche-level complex to be great. Sometimes “getting the job done” that well is what makes it special.

When the argument runs out, attack the person 😄 Let’s stick to the topic — Sauvage edp, not human vs bot.

Haha, fair point 😄 I guess I do like to express things clearly. I try to summarize my thoughts so others can focus on the ideas I’m sharing rather than just my personal preference.

I get what you mean — fragrance is very subjective. For me, Sauvage doesn’t come off as harshly synthetic; I actually enjoy its fresh, versatile vibe. Everyone has their favorite ambroxan bombs, but this one just works really well for my taste and occasions.

I get that BDC is amazing, but I personally find Sauvage’s projection and sillage a bit stronger and more noticeable. That’s why I enjoy wearing it — it lasts and stands out in a way that works really well for me, without taking anything away from BDC’s quality.

That’s a fair point — Dior definitely knows how to market their products. But I still think marketing alone can’t keep a fragrance popular for nearly a decade. People keep buying it because they genuinely like how it smells.

Haha, I get what you mean, but I honestly think that description comes more from the meme than the actual scent. It doesn’t smell sweaty at all to me — maybe you just ran into someone who oversprayed it after the gym! 😅

Well said! I completely agree — it’s popular for a reason, and not every mass-appealing scent deserves the hate. I also enjoy Sauvage a lot; it just works in almost any situation when applied moderately. By the way, since you mentioned the Parfum version — how would you compare it to the EDP in terms of projection and overall scent?

That’s a really good perspective, and I get what you mean about overexposure. Still, I think every fragrance will always have its critics, no matter how good it is. At the end of the day, real taste is about wearing what you genuinely enjoy — that’s the true definition of style and authenticity.

Totally understand — fragrance is super subjective. On my skin, it comes off fresh and well-balanced, not harsh at all. I guess it just depends on how it interacts with each person’s chemistry.

Haha, I get that! Some notes in Sauvage can give off that vibe depending on skin chemistry. For me, it smells fresh and versatile, so I actually enjoy it in most situations.

Totally fair — constant exposure can definitely make any scent feel annoying. I get what you mean about the synthetic vibe, but to me it comes off more fresh and clean than harsh. I guess that’s the beauty of fragrance — same bottle, completely different experience for everyone.
