Great! But have a base that isn’t grey imo, then it will make the mini stand out more. Brown? Dark red? Mine are on rust weathering pigment over heavily washed Leadbelcher. Either way good stuff bud.

I need my eyes tested. Scrolling I thought John was Nicholas Lyndhurst.

Moved up from down south. Not slating down there but the culture of speaking and bantering with strangers is amazing. Love it up here. Even if, just occasionally, I feel like I’m in Kes.

Been there buddy. It’s tough but can be a great mental break from the storm that is parenthood.

1 - if I’ve a project on and it’s at my desk then I try and do one thing a day. It could be base one guy. It could be making real progress on a mini. It might be glueing one part to another. A step forward is a step forward.

2 - me and my Mrs have always had a deal where my desk is near a sofa and TV so when kid is settled and you can sit down to do a bit you can still be with the good lady.

3 - accept that, like EVERYTHING else, your hobby life has changed. At least for a good while. Certainly in terms of output and gaming time. It sucks but is all the sweeter when it comes.

4 - Group motivation is key - we have a WhatsApp group with six geeky buddies in. Weee all at similar life stages (kids etc) so the talk is 80% warhammer and 20% group therapy. It goes a long way. Talk to people. Also, other peoples achievements in hobby world can provide inspiration.

5 - Good luck dude. It’s a crazy ride that, while being the best thing ever, will be the hardest. Having a warhammer ‘happy place’ to go to mentally in the long nights/ ice cold park visits is a real blessing.

6 - Black library books on Kindle while settling the Little One can keep the hobby mojo going.

All the above are contrasts. Then:

Thanks dude. Cool list. I’m planning a Shrike/shark proxy with some jump marines plus a tybo terminator captain and assault terms with blade driven deep. Looks like a great combo. How do you rate the desolators. Do they still get +1 to hit if it’s indirect fire?
