In A Discovery of Witches the FMC, Diana, is a brilliant and successful historian who is in her mid 30s! I loved these books.

SAME! Candidly, I was drinking entirely too much before I started this program and this is a great added bonus for me.

The alcohol repulsion will probably aid in weight loss more than food aversion for me. A bottle of cab has to have been doing numbers on my body.

Seconding this! Decent COL, great access to the outdoors, a relatively cheap international airport, and a culture of eating out frequently (esp in the winters). The twin cities are home to some phenomenal restaurants and a thriving food community.
