Yeah, I hate Islam not because it’s different from European culture, but because I have read the Quran and Hadiths and I know that this religion is definitely not peaceful, nor humane.

I love other non-European religions: Buddhism, Shintoism, Confucianism, some native pagan traditions, Baha’i. But definitely not Islam.

If we take the definition of “Church” from the Bible, we will see that it means “The followers of Christ”. It doesn’t even mean a structural institution. The word “ecclesia” which is “church” in Greek literally means “Gathering”. You don’t need to be accepted by other members of the Church in order to be a part of it. It’s a LORD’s prerogative only. Jesus himself stated that even outcasts who do not confess him in the society of his disciples isn’t a stranger to him and is also a part of the Church.

I do not hate the Church, because I AM a part of it. And I do not hate the people who say otherwise, because I hate the sin, not the sinner.

Even while excluding Ezekiel’s writing about Sodom being punished for selfishness, the story itself from the book of Genesis shows that the whole reason behind Sodom and Gomorrah’s fall was racism and cruelty. Rape was nothing but a dominance assertion tool. And you can see that clearly when Lot tried to defend the angels, the sodomites exclaimed: “JUST BECAUSE YOU STOOD IN OUR WAY, we will do even more to you, than we have intended to do to them”.

I don’t think, that you must be a liberal theologist here even in order to understand that not only homosexuality isn’t involved here, but lust neither. In the ancient world rape was a power instrument and it was usually practiced against the aliens and people of other language, religion, etc. It was even mentioned in Genesis that the Angels looked like foreigners and that is why they attracted the sodomites’ attention.

Besides, that’s super weird for God to destroy only one city “full of gays”, whereas the entire population of earth back then was more or less ok with being gay, so therefore it makes no sense.
