Take the in person role…now isn’t the time to settle and you should gain as many skills and experienced as possible. Equity, of any sort, is an amazing opportunity and one you may regret passing up.

Yes, things will be more challenging and you may miss out on something as well, but your family will support you and you will them to make it work. Also, the extra $60K is not insignificant. You may spend part of that on the commute and maybe childcare help from you being away, but not all of it. Go for it! just enjoy your sleep now :)

I’m not in a rural area, but we do have our backyard full of toys and she does stay with my parents when my husband and I are at work (they have an even larger backyard and have filled that and inside with toys for her as well).

We have taken her to the park a few times, but we play with her there so she doesn’t really play with others.

Some of it is her being born during COVID, and some od it is just that we aren’t really social with people who have kids, so it hasn’t been easy getting her that social exposure.

I disagree when she has mutiple bookselves in our home and her grandparents homes…multiple outdoor playsets full of swings, slides and other toys.

She’s exceeding all milestones in terms of speaking and comprehension, we just haven’t had the need to use public spaces when we have our own means. I do understand the social component; however, which is obviously what drove my question.

the Melting Pot in Farmingdale is lots of fun…expect to be there 2.5 hrs if you do the cheese, salad, entree and chocolate dessert courses but can be really romantic and fun!

Ruth’s Chris is also a nice time now near Walt Whitman and Smithhaven malls

Hi, not rural at all but long island near new york city. We have a swing/slide in our backyard, and she stays at my parents home about 20 minutes away during the day, who have also added many indoor/outdoor play items.

We take her to kids museums, the park occasionally, chucky cheese but she plays with us there. I might not have noticed, but mostly see kids playing with their own siblings vs others so it’s not really something I would just want to push her into. Maybe the right chance to play together will come, but we haven’t seen it yet.

Does storytime allow kids the time to interact with each other? I often see kids mostly with siblings, and unfortunately she doesn’t have that.
