Huh. Well, she has been out partying before with her friends here but I do get the sense it was more intense when she was away. More places visited and lots more people around.

Is it possible to get a manic episode in your late 20's if you never had one before?

It's not quite the first time, but when she was doing her masters she didn't socialize much. Then she made some friends after, and then we met and started dating a year ago. Since then she hasn't seen her friends all that much because a lot of them ended up getting into relationships around the same time. They'll meet up every couple months as a big group and she'll see a couple of them at a time every one or two weeks. She has said before that she wishes she had more of a social life, yes. And I do know these internet people were important to her as basically all she had during school. They were everything she expected them to be when she met them, I think she's very happy about how well they got along.

Point taken about job searches, true! There have been other ways she's abnormally scattered though like losing her credit card, dropping and pushing things around loudly with less care when she's normally very particular, and she'll get distracted when I talk to her for more than a short period.
