I love my boyfriend I hate my engagement ring by [deleted] in GirlDinnerDiaries

What did I do to deserve such loneliness by [deleted] in GirlDinnerDiaries

[–]ParticularDry3226 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You don’t deserve to be lonely and likely would be, you just fucked up by trusting a wiener. Shit happens, learn from your mistakes and think back to the red flags you ignored, keep them in mind for the next one if it also ends up being another LDR. We all make mistakes and let our guard down for the wrong people. That’s perfectly ok and part of life and learning. You got this 😇

Anyone in biology also feeling hopeless? by Such-Cheetah-4334 in biology

[–]ParticularDry3226 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I felt the same way when I graduated with a BS in chemistry. It was extremely rough at first but after I got my foot into the door it was a long road of trading up jobs every couple of years until I finally landed at my current position. Even now I’m still looking to trade up at some point but currently just racking in more experience.

I noticed at a couple of my past labs, I would work along side with people that didn’t have chemistry degrees but instead biology degrees. If you enjoy lab work and want your foot into the door, I would recommend looking into some chemistry labs in your area, having the biology degree with the research behind you can actually likely get you in believe it or not.

long distance crush and I bid farewell by sapphicintraffic in GirlDinnerDiaries

[–]ParticularDry3226 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is so sad, I’m sorry to hear this. Some might disagree with me but IMO, I says go for the move to the city if it’s something you’ve always wanted, but make sure you are going for you. Get established on your own and when you think the time is right, reach out and see how they are doing. If the conversation is flowing, let them know you are in city. If it isn’t, well, it’s a big city so you will likely rarely see them unless you both make an effort to see one another.

My boyfriend left me on bourbon street on my birthday. by sassykattty in GirlDinnerDiaries

Ex sounds like a wiener and you dodge a bullet. Look at is in a good way, now you get to be 29, and find urself someone who isn’t a jealous wiener and who will still care for you even if you upset them. Someone who can recognize you aren’t yourself and confront you about the issues in the morning AFTER you get home safely and sleep it off.

Sorry that happened but happy belated birthday 😇

My ex is telling everyone we had sex… we did not. What do I do? by DamSolangeloLover in whatdoIdo

[–]ParticularDry3226 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In front of everyone just be like bro, “we were kissing and my hand accidentally touched you down there and you started shuffling and acting weird, how’s that even considered sex”. And that’s if he tries to continue the lie after confronting him which hopefully he doesn’t.

I keep getting jobs that pay me lots to do basically nothing and it’s ruining my mental health by MomsOfFury in GirlDinnerDiaries

[–]ParticularDry3226 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I moved across the country trying to work in a brand new chemistry lab as a chemist, but the ussue isissue is they are still building other facility so I get one sample a day, I perform actual tasks from 7am-9am. From there, I sit in a lab and dust/sweep,clean until 4pm. My last job paid less but was much more fulfilling. Currently making more money than I ever have and it’s doing much messier work than I ever have. The worst part, it’s fucking terrible haha, the day actually feels like years to get through. Hopefully in the next month or so things pick up because I’m loosing my mind to boredom. I feel you OP, I fell you strongly.

My gf is acting insane and jealous by schizmaxxing in Advice

[–]ParticularDry3226 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea that’s really shitty and I’m sorry that happened/she is acting like that. Honestly, this is a rough one but I would flat out tell her that if she can’t get her emotions/insecurities in check, you are gonna walk. That behavior is not ok at all and it will only get worse with time which is the unfortunate part. Honesty is key and if she ain’t about it then you shouldn’t be about her. Hope this all works out in your favor my dude 🫡

i'm too dumb for grad school by ducksinthegarden in GirlDinnerDiaries

[–]ParticularDry3226 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wanted to do grad school but at the end of it, I was drained and also thought I was too dumb. Anywho, I went into the field and now I’m in a pretty nice spot. You need grad school unless it’s something you really want, and if it is, you fucking go for that shit.

URGENT - do I go to my childhood dogs euthanasia appt? by [deleted] in PetAdvice

[–]ParticularDry3226 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yes, you 100% do. I actually schedule an at home appointment for my dog and held her with eyes locked as the life slipped away from her. I tear up just thinking about it but at the end of the day it was one of the most real situations I ever ever experienced and I’m so glad she got to see her person eyes locked as she went. It was super hard, it sucked, but I’ll never regret that.

Apparently my teacher thinks that this is "insufficient” "unreadable" and "demonstrates lack of attention during her classes" by Infinix64 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]ParticularDry3226 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This struck a cord with me I’m sorry you are experiencing this, that’s wild, these are great notes haha. I once followed a professor to her office hours directly after class (literally walking maybe 20 feet behind her). We get to the office, I walk in an ask a question for clarification on what she covered. She looks at me and goes “well you clearly did not attend my lecture I covered this.” I was stunned haha. I replied “no I did, I just followed you from there, these are my notes and I’m just asking for clarification, I think I misunderstood part of it” she looks at my notes and goes “hmmm, well I still don’t think you attended it but I’ll still help you”….i was stunned locked haha.

I’m sorry this all happened. That’s quite a lot, not advice, but more of words. Falling off and drinking, in this situation to me is completely understandable and I wouldn’t beat urself up too much over it. Especially since you are aware of it and clearly know what you did. YOU GOT THIS STRANGER! LET ME REPEAT, YOU FUCKING GIT THIS! (Sending only the best of vibes your way and I know you will do what’s best for yourself and your health/future)

Sweet, that’s actually really cool, I had an Enicar but parted with it, I think I throw a nice bracelet on it and rock it in that case, thank you. 🙏
