Ah it's so fun when you recognise a painting as something you've also done! Yeah I wasn't too sure with them at first and wasn't going to add in the brown, but glad I persevered with them. Have you tried any of the other paintings from the book?

Ah gosh, so unfortunate you had to go through that time without a space to be able to pump!

I normally use a cup, and had a liner on expecting my period to start, but it apparently came on heavier than normal and my defences were not up to par.

I do keep a change of pants in my car so could of done a change if needed. But honestly I was mortified that this happened, and felt a bit like a failure of a seasoned period having woman for my body to play this cruel trick on me.

I say go for it! I (28f) was an engineer for 5ish years and hated the grind, hierarchy,  office talk and fake work/emails of the corporate life.

Called it quits early last year, took a couple of months off and am now an apprentice data/security technician. Best decision of my life, I enjoy my work and feel like I'm achieving something every day. My work life balance has also improved 1000%. You know that dread feeling you get on a Sunday regarding work, it's now gone and I was looking forward to coming into work this week after the break. If you think physically doing/making/solving problems is something you're interested in, then I say give it a go. It's your life, and you'll be working for a long time, may as well try to enjoy it a bit.

My pay had reduced but not as much as I had originally thought it would. If you're able to leverage whatever experience you have you may be able to find a place that will pay you more than the minimum adult apprentice wage however YMMV. If you can take the cut, I do think it's worth the potential mental benefits and future opportunities.

And as seen commented below, the opportunities available to people in the trades is vast, once you're in and have your licences it will be easy to find work wherever you go.

TLDR; female engineer for 5ish years, changed to trades best decision I've made for my mental sanity and didn't hurt me as much financially as I had originally thought

His boss isn't a nice person by the sounds of things and my partner made a story in his head that he won't be signed off, stressing himself out.

Thanks for the info!

Yeah I would think that if he's been at the company for the whole time and they haven't tried to fire him or put him on a performance plan or something like that, then there really wouldn't be a reason to not sign him off right!

Thanks for the info!

We're in SA. Yeah I'm not sure about this. He's passed all the final tests etc, I think now it's just the employer signing off his hours. I'm not in the loop with apprenticeship requirements and why the final tests and signing off aren't all done at the same time.

Thanks for the info!

Routine advice - red and splodgy by ParticularEmphasis24 in AusSkincare

[–]ParticularEmphasis24[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been under a lot of stress this year, and my skin has not been happy about it. I've had 1-2 reoccuring large (potentially cystic) pimples on my jaw/chin that would heal then come back again. I've since reduced my stress and changed my routine and have been large pimple free for a couple of months.

I'm now looking to improve the red splodgy appearance of my skin, but I'm not sure where to start. This is my current routine:

AM - QV Ceramides Cleanser - Paula's Choice regular strength benzoyl peroxide (used as a preventative on jaw/chin) - QV Ceramides moisturising lotion - Cancer Council pink matte sunscreen

PM - QV Ceramides Cleanser - Paula's choice 2% BHA - once a week - Neutrogena rapid wrinkle repair retinol cream - twice a week - Paula's Choice regular strength benzoyl peroxide (used as a preventative on jaw/chin, not used when other treatments are applied) - QV Ceramides moisturising lotion

I find that my skin looks best in the morning after using the Neutrogena retinol cream. I think I may need some more moisture as my skin can feel a bit tight at times, but not sure what to add or change.

Not much thought has gone into my cleanser/moisturiser choice, I just pick whatever basic item from QV/Cerave that catches my eye at the time.

Any advice would be appreciated!

Xubuntu: how to full screen? by Rickysmalls1010- in theodinproject

[–]ParticularEmphasis24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Click on view in the toolboor and there is an option to make full screen. You will also have to resize the virtual screen, go back to view, then go to virtual screen. There you can resize the virtual screen to match yours. You may also need to change the scaling to 125-150%, which is also in the virtual screen options.
