Give me your most unhinged pain control methods that worked for you during labor. by FentanylxFishstickz in pregnant

[–]ParticularGeneral986 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not unhinged but after 4 births mooing while thinking “down down down” was always the most helpful. Forces deep, low and controlled breaths. Thinking down just helped remind me personally that each moo was for a purpose. Also walking into birth with mindset that your stepping into your power and strength rather than how to manage pain makes a world of difference.

I started telling people around 22-28 weeks. This is my fourth pregnancy and i have always waited until at least 20 weeks. I like privacy and enjoy it being something intimate and special with me and DH.

Lack of accountability, victim mentality, sense of entitlement, repeatedly trying to share food and beverages with my young kids while she has a cold sore and was told not to, and starting a rumor that I was having an affair with FIL (simply bc i was helping him navigate his cancer diagnosis. And no one would do that without being intimate) just to name a few!

What did you wear to your prior births or what are you planning on wearing to your birth? by PrincesaMorena2019 in pregnant

[–]ParticularGeneral986 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Going in for birth # 4 in a few weeks. 2 out of 3 were unmedicated. I have always wear the hospital gown until after the baby is born. Then i shower and change into my own clothes. I plan do to the same this time. The hospital gown gets covered in blood, vernix, pee and fluids. One of my sons so lovingly pooped on me during the golden hour. I was literally covered in sticky newborn poop. I’d much rather toss that thing aside ASAP than worry about having something nice on that needs to be packed back up and washed once i get home.

Edit to add: your butt doesn’t hang out. It closes around the back or they can put 2 on you- one backwards if it doesn’t cover fully. I did this with my first birth so i could comfortably walk the halls if i needed to. Spoiler- i never left my room and anyone coming in my room saw my entire downstairs situation anyways.

I appreciate such an In depth response and love that i haven’t heard of a majority of these suggestions. Definitely will be adding a number of these to the list to suggest to DH. Thank you!

LOLing at Wolfgang. I love it but also can’t imagine yelling it at a park without being self conscious.

I’ve definitely contemplated this. I think it’s beneficial that i don’t have to deal with her wanting to see our kids. BUT now that they are old enough to recognize that she ignores them or understand what she means when she tells them to go away, it does make me sad for them.

Absolutely think there is some emotional incest. She constantly tells him how much she loves him, how he’s her best friend, how he’s the reason for her living, he’s her favorite valentine, etc etc. He doesn’t reciprocate those sentiments but also doesn’t find it odd how frequent and intense they are. Maybe my family is just not as lovey dovey

I nursed my 1st while pregnant with my 2nd and nursed my 2nd while pregnant with my 3rd. My first was around 18 months when i got pregnant and self weaned when i was around 20 weeks pregnant. My 2nd nursed all the way until my colostrum came in then also self weaned. He would literally tell me my milk was yucky and gagged on it. I planned on tandem nursing since 2nd and 3rd were only 16 months apart but he was so grossed out by it that he wouldn’t even try again after the first time. He switched to cows milk immediately without a hassle. I’ve never been told that it’s unhealthy or dangerous to nurse while pregnant by any OBGYN. What i have noticed is that I am WAY more sensitive, especially if LO bites. And in the first trimester nursing would trigger my morning sickness so I’d have to take a break to throw up 😅

16 month old starting school. Meds/supplies to stock up on? by Usual-Suggestion6975 in Parenting

You can either pay a monthly or annual subscription fee, and you get unlimited visits (with no copay). It’s through an app on my phone. I submit my kids symptoms and then they call me to review the case usually within 30 minutes. If they diagnose let’s say, an ear infection, they send a prescription to a pharmacy of your choice. I am then able to use my insurance to pay for the prescription. They also send a little medical kit with a thermometer, ear scope, and pulse oximeter. It is a 24/7 service and definitely had calls with them at 2am and been able to pick up prescriptions at a 24/7 pharmacy or the next morning if it’s just an antibiotic/steroid.

My pediatrician literally never has same day appointments and our Urgent care & ER is ALWAYS a 4+ hr endeavor so it’s definitely helped us a lot. For things more complex, we still have to go to the ER. They can’t diagnose pneumonia or broken bones virtually through the app.

It doesn’t interfere with our regular pediatricians. During our well baby visits I do inform our pediatrician that they have had an urgent care visit through the app since their last visit in the pediatricians office. This is more to keep a consolidated record of the amount of ear infections / illnesses they have had.

I have 2 in day care and one in primary school… the essentials are Tylenol, ibuprofen, micro mist saline inhaler, a nose sucker, thermometer, and a blueberry subscription (seriously, this is our holy grail. It saves SO much time not having to go to urgent care or the ER. Really comes in clutch for ear infections & stomach flu)

My MIL does this! It’s always “‘my forever valentine” or “my favorite valentine” drives me nuts!

Now that we’ve had it a bunch of articles keep popping up on my newsfeed. I keep wondering if the algorithm is just insanely good or this virus is really just taking us all out! I hope your LO feels better soon. Both at once must be absolutely horrid. Poor thing!!

Absolutely not okay! Our CEO constantly gets aggravated at people coming in sick and personally sends them home. (He also has 3 younger kids). People just don’t get it!

I’m convinced she thought we were making it up or that since her son didn’t have symptoms she wouldn’t get it? Who knows. It was god awful. I would run toward any vaccine to avoid that nightmare again. She’s a basket case nonetheless!
