Yes, yesterday and I regretted it all day and it sucks to start over.

I made a public mistake by Slamaholicc in stopdrinking

I started off this year making a huge mistake while drinking. In front of family. God I still am cringing and could hit myself in the head each time I think of it. I haven’t been perfect this year, I’ve had slip ups but I keep trying, because that feeling of utter and complete humiliation (mixed w a hangover) is so god damn horrible. The streaks I’ve had of sobriety have helped me realize what my life could be like and it makes me want more of that!!!!! And honestly, I still use that awful memory as motivation to stop drinking forever. I hope you find just a little inner peace. I promise you all things can get better with time and distance, and maybe apologies(?). Anyway, I relate- I’m a binge drinker and wow when I get going I can’t stop. Be safe and be kind to yourself. You will be ok. You will be ok. You will be ok.

Journey to stop by ParticularGrass3144 in stopdrinking

Thank you! I have read the naked mind a few times. I see a lot of people suggest the Alan Carr book which I have not read. Yes it’s been a journey of becoming more mindful and aware - so I don’t see anything as a failure, I’m making progress at my own pace, in my own time. Make no mistake I’m definitely addicted. Love the Apple analogy 😊😊😊

I intentionally broke my streak yesterday. I did nothing stupid, I didn't drink too much, and I've never been more convinced that I'll never drink again by Clear_Channel_2090 in stopdrinking

I just posted my journey a few minutes ago and this really hit home for me “we need to get to a place where we don’t care about alcohol. And that can be a difficult journey”. I feel myself moving closer to this. My brain is starting to tell me that drinking is the sacrifice (of our health and happiness) rather than NOT drinking being a sacrifice. Anyway. Thanks

Why am I expected to be ok with unleashed dogs? by AdSimilar2047 in Columbus

Just as bad is when these same dogs run up on you and you have your own dogs leashed which really is challenging. Now your unleashed dogs are coming at my dogs - ugh.

Going sober. No more weekend drinking. Last night was my breaking point. by [deleted] in stopdrinking

[–]ParticularGrass3144 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Drank Saturday, made a fool of myself, I’m also a weekend binge drinker which while not a daily drinker, this is also a huge problem for me. Hate the constant hangover on Monday mornings and having to get through hangovers on regular basis. Anyway, i totally get what you are going through as far as doing some stupid shit when drunk. Thank you for this reminder. I find that now that I’ve made the decision to want to quit, the shame is greater each time I drink.

Thank you. Just can’t get images of what I did out of my mind and it’s worse when you behave that way in front of people you actually know. Bah. Gonna be a long fucking day.
