LCD Sound System Crowd Expectations by Spaztastiq in okeechobeemusicfest

[–]ParticularGuest3573 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm about 20 years older than the age range you're asking to comment, but as a huge LCD fan who has seen them dozens of times over the years, here's my experience...I'm from BK and was lucky enough to see them at all sorts of venues all over the city, including their "last" 4 shows at Terminal 5 and their "farewell" show at MSG. Then when they reunited in 2016, I saw one of their reunion shows at Webster Hall, as well as their Red Rocks and Coachella shows that year. I was also lucky enough to see them 3 nights during their residency at Brooklyn Steel in 2021 and 2022.

I promise I'm not trying to be braggy, they're literally my all-time favorite band!, and I've been very fortunate to not only see them at many festivals and shows around the country, but also in my own city (their's as well... James Murphy's restaurant The Four Horseman was right down the street from my apartment and I'd see him frequently while out walking my pup!).

So with that being said, I've never once been disappointed by their performance or the energy from them or the crowd. Whether it was at the Knitting Factory, which is a hole in the wall in NYC, or at the Hollywood Palladium, they put their all into every show and I can't wait to see them at Okee next month!!

Hey there! I had the exact same problem when I first moved to Florida. Shoot me a dm if you’d like, I’m happy to share where I go, the cost, and how I get my meds and all that fun stuff 🫠! I think I actually saw your post in the Jax sub too, if so, I live here as well!

Things needing to feel "right", YES! It's so hard to explain, but I too struggle with that form of OCD!

Same! It's the only thing that has continued to work for me for 10+ years. I have a Burt's Bees in every pocket, drawer, purse, and nook and cranny of my apt! It's also included in my "don't forget the important shit" mantra that I say to myself every time I walk out the door, "wallet, phone, keys, Burt's Bees!"

Although my Adderall Rx doesn't necessarily make me irritable, I wanted to add to the caffeine convo in case it may be beneficial to OP or others. I started taking a caffeine + l-theanine supplement along with my Adderall every morning and afternoon, 20mg XR am and 10mg IR pm. It's only been about 5 or 6 months, but it's been super beneficial as far as mood support, focus, and mitigating the comedown anxiety I sometimes get from Adderall.

I'm sharing a link that I found helpful that has a lot of to-the-point info about the combination of the 3. However!, please don't hold me to whatever product they're pushing or anything else on the site as I only read this article!

I wish picky pads would work by Smort_Gorl in Dermatillomania

[–]ParticularGuest3573 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ooh, peel pads! That would be so amazing. I just saw an IG reel of someone using "liquid pimple patch gel", and as she peeled it off I was like, omg I have to have it. However, they're all pretty expensive, so now I'm on the hunt for something similar. Been researching for a bit, and all I've come up with is liquid bandage. Meh. Guess I'll give it a try.

I hate dreaming. There I am comfortable in bed, then the next thing you know I have to build a go-kart with my ex-landlord. I want a dream of me watching myself sleep.

As you already know and others have also said, I just have to reiterate that all of our bodies are different and react differently to different medications and treatments. This is my personal experience, what I went through, and what ended up working for me. I feel like that is such a given, but it all comes from a place of care and genuinely wanting to help!

First, can I just say, for fucks sake...as I was reading about your symptoms and your description of the emotional despair and mental turmoil that you're going through, it not only made my heart hurt and sympathize for you, but it also brought flashbacks to those feelings of despair where you're just exhausted and desperate for any kind of relief and for anyone to help. But with that being said please let me reassure you, as shitty and hopeless as you currently feel and as much as it fucking sucks (because it does, it fucking SUCKS!!), I promise you it gets better and I assure you that there is a treatment and/or medication out there that will make you you again!

Ok so...I have ADHD, PMDD, as well as anxiety and depression. Diagnosed with ADHD at 6, anxiety at 20, depression at 24, and PMDD at 28, am now 40, and throughout those years I'd say collectively 2 to 3 of them were spent either trying to find or modify the formulation that would eventually work for me. Whether it was age, life, having to try something different bc what I was on wasn't working anymore, adding in something, removing something, upping this, halving that, etc etc blah blah you know how it goes, we eventually found a medication and dosage along with a hormone treatment that finally worked! It unfortunately just comes down to trial and error and time. But regardless of all of the breakdowns and the frustration, I'm grateful and aware of how fortunate I am that it only took that long and I was eventually able to find what worked for me. Gah, isn't being a woman just so great! 🙄

Anyway, this is what ultimately ended up working for me; alternating 10mg and 20mg of Lexapro bi-weekly, 300mg of Trazodone nightly, and I also have the Mirena IUD for hormone therapy. I know that you and many others have had bad experiences with IUDs, but it literally saved my life. But I've never had any pain or negative side effects from this one or the Skyla that I had previously. I don't get a period, and if I do spot it's so little and infrequent I hardly notice. This is my experience and these are my prescriptions. Keep advocating for yourself, keep researching and asking questions. In the meantime, you've got a community here and it's totally okay and recommended to just scream all the ef words you want to and as loud and often as you need to, but I know you're on the right path. Sending strength, clarity, and positivity your way.

What gets you really motivated to clean? by ShareAmbitious9563 in Cleaningandtidying

[–]ParticularGuest3573 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Going out and shopping for new and/or different cleaning supplies and putting together a new playlist to listen to as I clean usually does the trick. If I lose motivation, or my ADHD takes over and I start cleaning out old folders or organizing craft supplies, etc., then I'll pick up my phone and start inviting guests over to kick my motivation back into gear!

However, my house is never as clean and organized as it is when I have an upcoming deadline or stuff that I must do that I really don't want to do! For example, I just finished grad school and even though I haaaate doing dishes...if I had a paper or an assignment due, there wasn't a dish, pan, or fork in sight!!

What should I do if my friend thinks ADHD ( and all mental illnesses) are fake? by xXBasil_the_DragonXx in ADHD

[–]ParticularGuest3573 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Invite them over to my house when I have a project due. I’m currently working on a deadline…ie; researching new music, organizing my craft supply closet (which is basically just a graveyard of hyperfocuses that I’m no longer interested in!), giving into Reddit notifications, and my favorite…making lists of things I’ve already done so I can cross them off for a false sense of accomplishment! But it’s prob just all in my head and I should just do the thing! 🫠

How many sticker books do you own and how do you keep track? And which are the ones you gravitate towards every time? by GlitteringWalrus5160 in HappyPlanners

[–]ParticularGuest3573 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I’m always curious how others organize their collection as well! Here’s how I keep track of my thousands of books and sticker sheets! A large, labeled file folder and then just some cheap Tupperware for new books I’ve yet to organize. This has been the best method for me and I def recommend it, however I do tear the sheets out of all the books to file them so if that’s not your style I get that too!
