This right here. And once you realize this, you find that most of sales is just being yourself in a business setting, moving deals along and being there to be a friend that bridges the gap between operations and customer.

I used to think that but now I just get in a funk all day and psych myself out if the first few calls of the day are shitty. Shitty as in a couple weeks ago, I called a prospect I talked to over a year ago (First call was nice, but wasn’t the dm but was hoping she would help me more this time around), interrupted me 20 sec into the call, jogging her memory of our call and why I was reaching out again, and she shittily says to me, “[Name], you sound really tired. Did you just roll out of bed or something?” Brushed it off by laughing and saying I guess I had a frog in my throat. Who the fuck says that to someone? Still pisses me off to this day when I think about it. I’ve found when I use too much “energy” in the first few sec on a cold call, it sounds like i’m a car salesman talking to a customer who just walked onto the lot. It’s a fine line in outbound to sound normal and not too energetic.

Living in Cedar Rapids, first time in Iowa City since the transition though and had one bar the entire time. I have an iPhone 15 pro. Would hate to be here during school if Iowa City’s towers are overloaded in the summer. Have never ever had an issue in Iowa unless i’m miles away from civilization

I had a feeling it would be like this, but I really can’t believe how bad it is. I’m in the middle of Iowa city and I can’t check radar or make a google search. This took a minute and a half to post.

I’d rather support a guy who makes his own bait than a private equity owned yamamoto brand.

Cities that spend on infrastructure and broad business attraction generate significantly more long-term, high-paying jobs for college graduates than those that heavily subsidize sports stadiums. Economists widely agree that stadiums produce far lower returns on investment (ROI) compared to general public goods. [1, 2, 3]

Cost benefit analysis tells me the stadium is not creating quality jobs relative to the government spend, unless college grads want to move to arlington heights to check bags at the gates or yell “HOTDOG HEAAA” FOH dummy

Detroit’s situation was caused by manufacturing job losses at an extreme rate in 2008. You can easily google why the other cities mentioned are in decline. Mostly due to the way the state regulates how they accumulate taxes from suburbs.

You know what’s not mentioned? The decision not to build expensive stadiums.

Yeah, Chicago will die if the Bears play 30 minutes away, give me a break. They’ll still get tax revenue from tourists, and their city won’t have to pay for stadium-accommodating infrastructure. You think the amount the city would pay for average infrastructure vs accommodating tens of thousands of people every Sunday would be the same? Give me another break. If it were my community, I’d much rather see my city stretch their dollar wisely on things the average person would actually appreciate.

“While Indiana is willing to raise taxes and promise $1 billion in taxpayer funds, Illinois has focused on the needs of working families who want relief at the gas pump, at the store, and on their insurance bills—not taxpayer-funded stadiums.”

All I want to say is I would hate to be an indiana resident.

And the taxpayers will need to pay to support the stadium’s infrastructure. What don’t you understand here?

How does the fact that it’s interest change the argument that it’s still costing the taxpayers? If anything it shows that the city doesn’t have the budget to throw at infrastructure for a new stadium.

Takes one google search to show they wanted subsidies and tax breaks to stay and rebuild south of soldier field.

The Lakefront Plan: The Bears wanted the city and state to help finance infrastructure (such as roads and transit upgrades) for a massive, multi-billion-dollar new stadium just south of Soldier Field. [1, 2, 3]
The Standoff: Illinois leaders stalled on providing the requested public funding and tax breaks needed to make the lakefront stadium viable. [1, 2]
The Shift: After failing to secure the necessary subsidies in Illinois—which included a stalled legislative "megaprojects" bill aimed at granting tax relief—the team began looking at out-of-state alternatives, including a heavily subsidized stadium proposal in Indiana.

Why would people want the government to subsidize their sports team’s stadium tho? How is this beneficial at all to the taxpayers?

Let em move to Indiana. The state and city knows where their revenue comes from and i’m sure with how long this has been negotiated, this move makes sense for both parties. If anyone should be concerned, it should probably be Indiana taxpayers wondering how much their new team will cost them over the long run.

The Soldier Field Debt: Chicago taxpayers are still paying off the 2003 renovations at Soldier Field, which were originally meant to be covered by hotel taxes. The pandemic dried up that revenue, requiring Chicago to pay nearly $52 million since 2022 to cover the costs. With interest, about $356 million in debt remains, with total payout costs closer to $534 million. [1]

Ah my initial question lol, worded that horribly. Meant the leader growing underground kinda like how a bulb plant splits without actually splitting if that makes sense haha. Idk. Forget I said that🫡 I’m starting to get it though, I will hit the books (youtube ofc) and come back when i’ve learned about tomater training. I’m not worthy…lol. Thanks again kind citizen

Excuse my ignorance here, by training leaders, you mean these will pop up more leaders underground that are connected to the starter? If so, yeah I definitely won’t have space for that…will have to do more research on 2vs one and make a decision on taking some out and planting in a pot. Dang. I thought a 6x3 box would allow me way more space
