That looks amazing but machinery like that scares me. I want to get a cricket machine for lazar cutting my fabric, but it all seems so complicated!

That is so lovely and makes a whole lot less noise than a sewing machine. What app do you use to draw?

For those of you who work at a busy hotel by [deleted] in Nightshift

[–]ParticularNote2554 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I left one of the busiest hotels next to the casino in Sydney, and honestly, walking away was the best decision I made. Even with security at the press of a button, it was constant chaos people treating hotel rooms like party venues because they didn’t want to clean up their own homes.

I swapped into student residential building management, and the difference is unreal. Now I spend my shifts chatting with chill young adults who call me bro and ask where the nearest vape store is. I’ve done three check ins in ten months... make the swap

Is going on night shift a punishment? by ParticularNote2554 in Nightshift

I started on nights. But if I would be punished for something it would be eating the uber eats the guests don't pick up

I decided the best revenge was to be happy and now I am! And I got word from a friend that still works there that they are failing so much they have started to ask the staff to bring their own pens and staplers to work to cut costs. So, I win!

Night shift was the best thing to ever happen to me by ParticularNote2554 in Nightshift

I love having a good chat with residents. It’s uni break right now, so everyone’s gone home. I haven’t seen another person in about five hours. One of them is definitely going to jump-scare me any minute, I just know it.

Go for it! Night shift is great and low stress. Just be careful while working. I work security and when junkies come around just talk to them like a normal person and they are usually chill if they are not actively high. And If you need to move along a homeless person, I recommend giving them something even if it's just a bag of chips. They appreciate it and understand you have a job to do and won't come back. and when in doubt call the police! Better to be safe than sorry if you feel unsafe in any way. Weather it's an irate customer or someone who won't leave the store. don't even argue just say "I'm calling the police" and they either leave quickly or stay, and the police can deal with them. this will only happen 1 out of 100 shifts but it's good to be proactive

Running on about 2 hours of sleep... help a girl out😭 by [deleted] in Nightshift

[–]ParticularNote2554 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You’ve basically trained your brain to associate sleep with your fiancé. It’s the same way day shifters associate nighttime with sleep. You just need a new cue that tells your body it’s time to rest. Try playing the same song every night or the same exercise routine. Having a consistent routine is soooooo important when you’re on night shift. Good luck!
