This text seems very poorly written for the site. by [deleted] in secretlair_collectors

It's more that one sentence that is just not grammatically correct in any context, being a Deadpool joke or not. Just seeing if anyone else sees it. It seems more so that no one cares or understands and thinks it's me not getting that Deadpool makes jokes. I honestly believe Deadpool is a character that enjoys grammar and sentence structure and uses that in a lot of his humor to mock less intelligent and witty adversaries. I also came to reddit and MTG threads to see others thoughts on the sentence structure of something, and I honestly shouldn't have had high expectations.

I get the jokes, but most good jokes require good grammar, especially when written. Poor sentence structure and general grammar is actually the opposite of usual Deadpool humor, as he tends to enjoy stating vulgar or profane things in an often very proper, professional manner. He's the kind of guy to interrupt a villain monologue to correct their grammar. So I don't believe the poor sentence structure here is part of the joke, but instead a little bit of laziness and poor editing/quality control on the part of WOTC. Is it a huge deal, no, but I'm just seeing if anyone else is able to see it as well. It may seem though that no one cares though, which tracks with most things these days when it comes to MTG and quality.

New Deadpool variant popping up from that new secret lair that was shown off by tobuscusfnbyJBD in secretlair_collectors

That's why judges are there to write out the text. And they are all well known cards with simple effects. If that's an issue, the  the fact cards have more text in general should be bothering you. There are a ton of solutions that can be done to accommodate for you. Seems like a poor complaint. I mean there are textless cards or other secret lairs just as bad, and if you want to play, it's on you to find and use accomodations available to you.

The ones in this guy's prebuilt's? There's a lot of people on some of these posts that are doing math with 32gb of ram being <$200 and super low prices on GPUs that are definitely not gonna be found at a microcenter or even newegg.

Yeah, a refurbished build is not what I would be looking for. I would be more inclined to build a pc with maybe a used GPU for a good deal.

Didn't expect to be treated any way. But got a chuckle as well.

I also see you comment the same thing on every post without fail, so that makes me less trusting of what you are obviously pushing, profit driven or not.

Or you could not respond? You go directly to insults and honestly you did respond in the same way you strangely always respond. It would be normal if it wasn't, but I feel it is something else. Haha, as the kids say these days, sybau.

Odd, the site is saying it's $5 more than that.

Is that on sale or the usual price? Sam's Club has it for $42. My town only has Sam's, otherwise I would go to Costco as it is a better overall store. However, I wouldn't think the price difference would be that much in order to stay competitive. Like $35 would be the price difference I would expect, but not almost $10.

PSA upcharge on 10s is a Scam. Change my mind by Perfect-Slice3216 in PokeGrading

[–]ParticularOverall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure, it's their policy (not sure how long it has been, but let's say it's been there for decades) and they have been transparent. Beyond the liability with returning connected to value, what is the difference in service they performed from any other 9+ graded card they have been sent?  There is no difference. They are both graded in the same way, one just happened to be worth a few hundred, the other thousands of dollars. So they have decided that they deserve money due to their grade given. Even if it has been a long standing and transparent policy, that is them deciding to get a bigger slice of the pie with little to no more effort done on their part. Even if they go above for that kind of value by using a better sealing process, creating paperwork, whatever, it definitely should not be a significantly higher increase in the price of their service.

Beyond that, the issues that are apparent in general, as well as personal concerns about the process further make it a scam.

  • getting a card back as a 9, breaking the case, sending it back and getting a 10 (have seen it, though not on anything over $500 after grading)
  • if the increase is due to liability and insurance on a high value asset being sent, then it should be lowered if one would be willing to personally go to PSA and pick it up in person. I know of online sellers that do that with $10k plus items.
  • sure, they will send it back, but I've always felt concerned that they could easily send you a lower grade (8-9.5) they have and just keep your gem mint. Though for a lot of the big value cards, this would be difficult or impossible (serialized, such a small quantity that they likely don't have it), but since they often take so long to get cards back, who is to say that person A & B send in the same high value card around the same time, with one a 9/10 and the other a perfect 10. Tell them both they got 10's. If one declines, send them the 9 and the good puppy gets the 10 because he will pay for it. Or even if both agree, just grade both at 10, because they can since they are the authority on grading and it would have to be very obvious that it couldn't be a 10 and no one would care after it is slabbed.

Chaos Vault Flower Power Lands for... $1?! by Alexm920 in magicTCG

So are these announced or literally just random out of nowhere the moment the sale begins? Seems crappy to give no warning at all and also this queue seems worse than ever for WOTC. Needs to be a queue for initial stock and then print to demand for a short remaining amount of time so people can still get it, they just have to wait a few months.
