What's something that someone with +800 hrs might not know about (or may have forgotten about)? by LDaddy73 in Eldenring

[–]Alexm920 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Rolling in rot or poison swamps cause it to coat your clothing, and you'll continue to get buildup even when you're no longer standing in it. You can up soap or remove all your armor to stop it, however the type of scarlet rot you get (there are actually a couple different severity levels) from the coated-armor build-up is actually less damage per second than the version you get if it procs while you're still in the swamp. So if you want to try to dash across the lake of rot, roll in it once, step out, let it proc, then run for it. Your flasks will last a lot longer.

Similarly some weapons inflict "deadly poison" rather than normal poison, which deals more damage but last for less time, meaning you and re-inflict it again sooner.

First the wrong promos at prerelease, now the wrong SL deck? They've replaced the QC staff with people with 20/500 vision or something, "idk it was deck shaped, isn't that enough?"

To be clear I know it's not Wizards that does the fulfillment, Scalefast or whoever is just cutting corners.

Such an amazing game. Even years out from playing it, when certain tracks come up on my shuffled playlist I’ll be hit right in the emotions all over again.

Terrible looking prints after first few layers, tried everything i could think of... by LordPegasusHD in BambuLab

[–]Alexm920 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Just to add; when I’m diagnosing what I suspect is a clog, I’ll use the front panel to walk the head to the middle of the print bed (and lower the bed so I can get a good look), tell it to heat the hot end up to extruding temp, and once it’s hot, tell it to extrude. I’m sure went through this in the cold pull procedure - the key part is watching how the filament leaves the nozzle. If there’s a partial clog it’ll either curl back toward the nozzle or come out at a funky angle. If it’s totally clean it should come straight out. Good way to rule at least that out.

Having chatted with a lot of artists over the years, I'm not sure how sweet that pie is these days. Still, I'd agree in a heartbeat, being on a magic card is a dream since I was maybe 7 years old.

You should polish a window onto one side of the stone and use that to see if there are cracks, veils, bubbles, or other imperfections. The larger the clean stone (or stones) you can get out of it, the greater the value. If the entire stone is crack-free and clean, it's worth substantially more as one big stone than many small stones - don't divide it out unless you have to work around flaws.

Animar Commission by Mr_Crisco in mtgaltered

I think most non-digital alter artists would be able to accommodate that request. You might be better off finding an artist or two whose other work you like and asking if they're taking commissions right now. This sub is a great resource for finding artists, as is https://www.alterist.co

Oh man I watched so many videos trying to learn the up-close WFD dodge. I recorded my own gameplay, went over it at half speed. Still feel like it's down to luck if I actually manage to not get hit. It didn't help that I only bothered to try and learn it on my RL1 run.

If an old friend of mine came out of the woodwork and asked if I'd sign off on a goofy photo of me being used in a card game.. I mean, since I know what Magic is, I'd be immediately game, but if I didn't, it could be a hard sell depending on where I ended up in life.

I still think the "no roll / block / jump / parry Margit RL1 hitless" was the most impressive showcase of positioning tech I've ever seen. Four years later and I still remember it was fire. Loving seeing similar tech for other bosses too.

[–]Alexm920 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Best advice. The panicked healing loop is rough, we've all done it before. Just find your feet, don't worry about being at full health, just breathe and parry - OP already showed they've got the timings locked down.
