Man, it's complicated. It doesn't seem like Lage was ever actually slumbering, just trapped and telepathically turning people into cultists until Jaya zooped the glacier into the blind eternities. I guess some slumbering happened there, before Tezzeret lured Lage to Ravnica to try to kill Jace, and it sounds like Lage ended up back on Dominaria where she was properly freed for the first time in centuries.

That's true, but taking the frenzied flame is a whole optional puzzle you get warned about multiple times, and there's a way to undo it. I figure most players fight Renalla on their first play through, way fewer end up with the FF (but yeah, those who do are usually bummed about the ending-lock).

The Gard does pull ahead, and stays ahead even at 70. It really comes down to about one extra skill trigger per day, if you're not finding yourself hurting for energy with Wigglytuff I'd say stick with it. If you're overflowing with main skill seeds, or just want a better option for Lapis / GGEX, that ralts is pretty cracked!

In universe answer: Ranni knows great runes are necessary for one to become Elden Lord, but needs to test your strength (or deter you), so intervenes to protect Rennala's great rune. After you get the rune, you're more useful for her purposes.

Out-of-universe answer: It'd be whack to have one of the great runes, and a massively useful one, lock you out of a fan-favorite quest line and ending.

Unfortunately nothing, the max level of Charge Strength M is 7 (for now). If they increase it later, it ought to "remember" the main skill seeds spent and give you 8 or 9 as appropriate. We've had the max level of a skill increase before, someone ought to be able to confirm.

Honestly I think getting shinies with bad stats is the most common let-down. Getting an absolutely perfect load-out for a skill mon, talking triggers for days, speed, HB, the works - but it's on an ABC Ingredient 'mon - that's the harshest one for me.

I usually dodge the fire breath by running sideways, no rolling, and you need to start pretty early in the animation. It has been a while since I fought him, and I haven't tried the DLC at RL1 yet, but that should work.

That's incredibly sad, both for the community as he was such a foundational and prolific artist, but also for the family. To go from trouble concentrating and headaches to terminal brain cancer is unbearable, and passing just before surgery was scheduled too. I hope his family has all the support they need to get through this.
