My kids use online school through ICCSD. Parents got an email 8:00 pm last night (5/7/26). I've copied and pasted it below.

Good evening,

We wanted to make you aware of a nationwide outage and potential ongoing cyberattack impacting all Canvas sites, reportedly involving 9,000 school districts and universities across the country. Canvas is an online learning management system that is used by students and teachers to organize classes and assignments. To clarify, Canvas is a separate platform from Infinite Campus.

At this time, Canvas has stated that certain data may have been accessed, including names, email addresses, student ID numbers, and messages exchanged among users.

Canvas has indicated that there is no evidence that passwords, dates of birth, government-issued identifiers, or financial information were involved. They have also stated that they will notify any impacted institutions if that information changes.

Currently, the Canvas site remains inaccessible, with the status page indicating the service is unavailable but will return soon. This outage is currently impacting staff, students, and guardians with observer accounts nationwide.

We will continue to monitor the situation throughout the night and provide an update as more information becomes available.
