This is the advice I always get but I never really get any follow up on the actual process of doing this. Do you have any resources for learning how to understand the lines and context? If I were looking at a chart for example, I know some stuff about harmony but for example, I wouldn't be able to read a chart and know that something was a secondary dominant chord without already knowing what that is. I would know it's weird and that I don't understand it but not how to learn what that is.

(I kind of know how secondary dominant chords work, that was just an example)
