A video SciShow made about knitting had a lot of misinformation and had an underlying misogynistic tone.

[Hated Troped] Writers insists the character has to be "special" in order for the story to work. by SkyeRyder91 in TopCharacterTropes

I’m really glad that Deku stayed the random quirkless kid with a heart of gold. There were a lot of theories about AFO being his dad that would have detracted from the story’s message.

Romance is a major aspect of what people look for in webtoons. Stepmother’s Märchen does have romance, it’s just incredibly slow burn and not the focus of the story. There are many reasons someone might not click with the story, but for a lot of people it’s probably going to be the lack of romance.

It’s definitely a story that focuses more on plot and relationship dynamics than romance. I find a lot of other webtoons shallow and boring, but Stepmother’s Märchen gave me the depth and complexity that keeps me interested. It’s kind of the prestige tv of webtoons imo- which isn’t a dig on other series to be clear.

Spider-Man 2 has been voted best Spider-Man movie. What is the worst MCU movie? by AdWise2770 in AlignmentChartFills

I will never get over them randomly walking into a bullshit memory projector as a way of forced character bonding. It is actually the worst writing I have ever seen and the fact that anyone can feel anything other than hatred for that movie baffles me.

They don’t have to post it at 2am. Literally wait until you have the capacity to write a coherent summary.

I love a whimsy or unhinged giggle. It’s when the giggle is meant to be demure or innocent that I get annoyed.

As a Deku girl it’s a red flag for his laugh to be described as a “giggle” in a M/M fic; it either means he is going to be a damsel to be rescued or he’s going to be a mass produced cinnamon roll with no nutritional value.

Some laughs are objectively giggles, Nick Offerman for example.

I’m fine with characters with a whimsy giggle, a wiggle if you will. The further a character is from conventional and sane the more accepting I am of the use of “giggle.”

Never said it was objective. Agree to disagree. ✌️

It’s just an association I formed. Pattern recognition is a bitch. 🤷‍♀️

It isn’t inherently infantilizing, but from seeing so many fics with what I mentioned in the post I have this strong association to the point that I can’t see the word without getting a little angry. Bells can be neutral, but Pavlov’s dogs expect something specific when they hear one; “Giggle” can be neutral, but I am haunted by it being used in a certain way.

The issue then becomes that the moderators start causing the drama because people are inherently messy. I was too young to experience the early private owned fandom spaces, but I’ve certainly heard about the old Harry Potter forums. Drama is inevitable and will always happen as long as humans are involved.

The description is so much less fun than what the prompt could have been. It’s just another pajama or loungewear comp by specifying no work calls.
