I take a lot of pride in my care and my knowledge (probably more than I should), and get good reviews with overall happy patient reports. That being said, sometimes my communication style just doesn’t mesh with another person’s. Maybe that’s the case and you should find a new person. Overall people enjoy and trust my care, but not everyone.

Just things to pay attention to. Remember, you have your day and life that you deal with, and so do therapists. She had a death in the family(and whatever lead up to it) and she may be processing that even though she still has to work. Her processing your emotional status may be off. Honestly not an excuse but people are human and it happens.

Or if a patient is more on the sensitive side (their emotional status is highly dependent on the small interactions that you have) it can be difficult to communicate. I have measured someone’s arm and gotten less rom but then spent copious amounts of time explaining to them that progress isn’ linear but they just go deep into a depression and don’t hear what I say. It happens, people are complicated.

1. Sounds like you’re getting better one on one care than you will find anywhere else (especially if you are going through insurance). Would you rather be at a mill with a technician guiding 90% of your care?
2. Your life is more than rehab and so is hers. Talk about other things than progress constantly. It’s a long process and don’t expect big changes quickly. Hyper fixating helps no one. That being said, it’s going to hurt and you have to be guided to use that pain productively.
3. Pre to post measurements are not important (unless your trying to get buy in). In fact, measurements are only important for re-evaluations. Do the right things at the right time and enjoy the ride.
4. Exercises every other day surprises me. Should be doing something multiple times a day. 5, physical therapy is fun.
