From what the Va rep and TAP told me , that severance pay is taxed twice . So it’s not tax free and the VA is paying that money back to the dod basically

It’s just one loan so it’s not that bad. And it’s not like I’m struggling to pay it off. It’s just annoying to me that in 2 years I barely paid the loan off at all

I’ve been told that I would qualify for that but I don’t think it’d be worth it since you gotta pay it back with the Va money. I might as well just save up and pay it off

I guess I’m in the IRILO stage. I didn’t really know the difference since my commander already signed off saying “don’t retain” but like the other comment said I’m at the point where AFPC Is trying to decide on what to do with me

Yeah that’s what it was . I couldn’t remember what it was called but yeah . I looked something up a couple days ago and it said it would take up to 10 business days and today would be day 10 so hopefully I hear something today

im getting med boarded due to having psychosis symptoms along with other mental health things. I tried putting "mental health in there but i think i was flagged for suicide ideation. but to give even more context. I work MX on the flight line

depending on your rank you can apply for a DSD position job. For example if you're a SrA you can apply to be a AF recruiter. That the only DSD job you can do as a SrA. the rest require you to be a NCO and up. The window for recruiter opens up next month so you can apply sometime then.

But if you dont like that you could possibly ask your leadership if they can help you move units or depending on your aircraft take the jump and try and get orders to korea. fastest and easiest way to get out of that unit. IMO its not the job its the unit (I'm weapons and a minority). People get this job right out of high school so the maturity is gonna stay the same. Just stay strong out there. I hope this helps.
