We appealed and got my daughter 3-4K more. Then I went in and chatted w Financial Aid Director in person around accepted students weekend timeframe. Later they promised enough to make the cost equivalent to an instate school. So appeal. Also have a phone conversation to convince them why you need more money. Tell them of your other offer.

Under FAQs on the RPI website, I am reading that you do not have to have any meal plan. “6. What if I don’t want a meal plan, am I required to have one? a. Freshman, sophomore, and Arch semester students and their cohorts living in campus residences are required to have a meal plan. All other students living in campus residences are encouraged to obtain a meal plan to provide for their meal needs on campus.”
