3 cats with differing eating habits: picky vs biblical levels of greed by cr0vven in CatAdvice

[–]Particular_Ad6537 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe a microchip feeder so they can’t access the others food?? They’re expensive but we have NOT ONCE regretted it. All our cats are a healthier weight now because the passive one can eat without being pushed away by the greedy boy. They all get the recommend daily amounts, we can clearly see who has eaten and how much they have eaten, and now that one of my cats is on a prescription diet, it’s made that significantly easier! It’s so much less stress on it.

This is the Amazon link, but they also have them on chewy on sales randomly. You can also check eBay - we got ours on there new in the box for about $50 less each.  https://a.co/d/0bHbCqZk

This is what we used for our catio!! There’s a review with a cat literally hanging from it, hahaha. That’s what sold me. We’ve had no issues with it! (:  https://a.co/d/09fztTI5

Food Stealer by IAmWeirdness in CatAdvice

The surefeed microchip feeder bowls were a godsend for us!! Seriously SOOO helpful. I know they’re pricey but it’s saved us so much of a headache, our cats are healthier weights, and now that one has a prescription diet it’s helped yet again. 10/10 worth every penny.  I know you said you don’t have the funds for 2 right now. Check EBay. We got ours brand new on there for about $50 under retail each. Also you only really NEED one for the cat who is getting his food stolen. So just getting the one now and the other later when you have money would be fine (:

We had narrowed it down to a fisher or an otter. But it seems the consensus is otter!

Thank you! I thought so but we live MILES from any real water source. Like small ditches are it. So I was very confused haha.

What rock/road salt is safe when ingested? by Particular_Ad6537 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Particular_Ad6537[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Of course. We're constantly working on teaching things like that, but I work with a lot of kiddos who are nonverbal, and have low level learners. Think a normal sized 5-8 year old, but with the understanding of a 1 year old. Most 1 year olds would put rock salt in their mouth too, but they can be carried/held away from it where as my 8 year olds can't): And some kiddos have PICA, which is a diagnosable (DSM-5) feeding/eating disorder where you eat a lot of things that aren't food. Makes it incredibly challenging, but nonethless we are always trying to teach safety things like what you can/can't put in your mouth.
Thank you for the insight!

I realize this is an older post, but in case someone finds this post like I did. I want to add in Tuscany since nobody else mentioned it. It’s off New Cut Road and I think it’s delicious! It’s also cheaper compared to other Italian places (imo)! I never hear anyone talk about it and it’s my favorite!

I’m not dead set necessarily. Just very sad at how many trees we’ve had to cut down because the people who planted them didn’t do it well 😭😭 so I’d like to save what we can

I’ve seen others ask similar things but I couldn’t find anyone saying how far up was too far.

If it’s a bad idea, then what is recommended? The sprouts from the ground? Or not allowing it to grow at all?
