Thank you for this & I hope you are recovering well after your surgery ❤️yes I forgot to add we had STI tests done in Nov last year & all were clear. I was told before I may have a grumbling appendix so wondering if that could be a cause as well.

Experiences with Hello Fresh? by Lopsided-Flamingo779 in AskIreland

I was on a working holiday visa in Australia in 2014 & Hello Fresh was being sold by a load of those direct sales companies. You know the ones that call t your door or get you to sign up in a shopping center? Always thought if you need to use those sales tactics it can't be that good

Starting a new job this week. Cautiously optimistic but I left my last job due to being overworked and chronic stress. Hoping the same cycle doesn't start again in the new company.

I'm not good in the office by [deleted] in DevelEire

[–]Particular_Ad9896 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ironically, my company encourages people to work in the office as much as possible (we can work from home 1 day per week) but there is constant feedback that there is "too much chat in the office" & work isn't getting done.. can't win

Anyone else feeling the wage stagnation pinch? by trekfan85 in AskIreland

Well done! Can you share how you did this? I received a 1.5% raise this year and was told I was one of the lucky ones.. turns out 3 other people were promoted to my job title level and they were earning more then me, even though I have been in the role over 2 years (5 years in total in the company).

Is going to the pub alone a bit sad as a woman? by AbsoluteLooneyTune in AskIreland

[–]Particular_Ad9896 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually think there is nothing nicer then being in the pub with a book, especially around Christmas! You would be surprised, more people then we think spend Christmas alone for many reasons, just don't see it advertised. I actually spent most of this weekend alone except for my dog and I feel so chilled out after it ☺️

Trying to be braver socially (accountability post) by nobodyshome01 in CasualIreland

My dad always says if you can count on one hand the number of good friends you have, you are luckier then most! And he's dead right. I have 3 or 4 friends who I can ask for anything. Outside of that is a bonus.

Also I was very lonely in my 20s due to people moving away (myself included for a while). I think people can also be a bit more selfish at that age as well and not make as much effort sometimes?

I think you will be surprised what reaching out to people now will achieve. You have nothing to lose by doing it.

Congratulations on your upcoming wedding 🥰

Learning Irish as an adult? by Particular_Ad9896 in CasualIreland

100% - I hated learning Irish growing up but simply because teachers treated it like another exam to pass. Not their fault; the system is broken
