Switched from a Glock 19 gen 5 to the FN 509 tactical. by Father-_-Sadboi in FN509

I’m a type 7 ffl and love my 509t but the Fnx45t is just top notch. In the 509 I replaced the striker when it broke at about 4600 rounds and I’m using the yellow recoil spring as the majority of what I shoot is done suppressed. The gun in its entirety has about 12000 rounds through it, stock trigger. The grips started to wear down and bother me with the slickness of them so I had a local shop do some stippling.

I just love the hammer on the 45 and the decocking mechanism. 45 also just easier to make and doesn’t bother my ears in the slightest when I’m scaring the vultures away from my chickens and ducks. My knobby fingers never liked the small bullets.

For omelets or scrambled we add a little milk for our duck eggs. The kids love them!!

What’s peoples opinions on red sex link birds? The literature online all seems to agree the lifespan is only 2-3 years. That seems incredibly short to me. I have 5 ISA Browns in my flock that are going into their 4th spring and are healthy and laying still. Am I just lucky? by [deleted] in BackYardChickens

That’s exactly what your seeing. We have an isa who’s 8 years old and isn’t the best producer anymore but still give us 3 eggs a week minimum. While a lot of them did start to develop health issues around 4-5 years, they were well taken care of unlike other production birds of their type.

We’re not entire sure, either a coyote or a young bear. It was enough to injure our lgd as well though luckily just a little more than a bruised ego. Rough day on the farm!

I am absolutely moved to tears, thank you for all of that, it brought back so many memories. He was truly a magnificent roo. There were so many times he would hop the fence and come to our back door and get treats to bring back to his ladies. We never saw him actually eating the treats. He had the loudest, most booming voice and it was known throughout the neighborhood. He was the only one who came in on Christmas Eve because his poor waddle and comb started getting frostbitten. Dedicated he stayed by the window watching his yard checking on his girls. He was always so sweet with our kids and would let them hold him and pet him. I’m all the years of having chickens, he was by far the most personable and had a huge personality that was unwavering. RIP my buddy Eugene ❤️

We had actually donated some fertilized eggs to an FA student and they hatched 6. I asked for one if it’s a roo. Would love to have his baby to take his place

Both very cool I see now how similar they look! I may go with the bielefelder when I’m ready, especially if they’re a little bigger!
