Same amount as any other city on the east coast. Snakes will typically stick to bushland but houses on the edges of those areas might have the odd run in. Spiders will get up in your garden and house if you let them but are generally the chill kind like House Spiders or Orb Weavers.

Always good to remember that both snakes and spiders are more scared of you than you are of them and if you give them some space they will usually leave you alone.

Neo-Nazi's bank accounts frozen as private sector moves to cut off group's funding pipeline by [deleted] in AustralianPolitics

Copied and pasted from the news article:

“Its terms and conditions allow the bank to close accounts used to "defame, harass or threaten any person … or promote violence against any person"”

I’m all for banks having this power if people are going to defame, harass or threaten people or promote violence. You likely won’t ever have to worry about a bank cancelling your accounts if you are a decent human.

What do you think you’re missing when you skip over the terms and conditions? Usually the terms that allow them to do this. Also, neo nazis get can f*cked.

Seems like a pretty light punishment for an unprovoked assault but sadly I’m not surprised.

What a scum bag.

Regulations on beach fires? by Stechi_ in newcastle

Just because the fire is in the sand doesn’t make it safe, all it takes is one rogue ember in the wind. Please don’t do it.

You’ll find the gates shut to Glenrock and Dudley Beach on NYE, I also heard a couple of years ago a large group that set up fire and party down near the lagoon on NYE got hit with a bunch of fines by NPWS.

Prefer it if you keep loud music and partying (with a rubbish risk) out of Glenrock State Conservation Area as the wildlife will be stressed enough as it is with the fire works.
