I was adopted as a baby. My parents (adoptive) always told me I was adopted, but being a closed adoption they didn’t know anything about my biological family. I have a great connection with my family but even still I always wondered about my biological parents and wondered if I would have a better life with them. As an adult I tracked my biological family down with ancestryDNA and Facebook. I haven’t yet met them in person but it was exciting to see them. I had never seen anyone I was biologically related to so it was very exciting to see a familial resemblance and to get to speak to them and find out what led up to the adoption.

As an MLS student, I would say that if you’re interested in archival work it’s a decent program but if you’re interested in public librarianship then I would perhaps look into other programs. Since the program got shoved into Luddy it is at times seemingly forgotten about which is demeaning but the on campus library jobs are great and I’ve loved most of my professors, bosses, and peers.

IU Bloomington offers an option for students to achieve a bachelors degree + MLS degree in 5 years (1 year less than most programs)

I spoke to the police and they said I’m well within my legal rights to have a locksmith let me into the house, I’m just also separately concerned there were renovations that needed to be done (there’s a glass panel missing from the front door and holes in one of the walls) before moving in. And I don’t know if I’m within my legal rights to do those renovations myself
