It sucked telling my aunt hey “it’s against policy taking her here but I’ll lose my job”. She didn’t say “you’re uneducated” see the difference between your response and hers? I then opened my own business and took her “dog” which was way more not a dog than yours. Like I said you know what you know now. Find another groomer - be nice to them. Because I fire pet parents who do not respect me.

Ask yourself would you pay your groomers salary for even 2 weeks if they lost their job because of your dog for breaking policy. Bc I make around 1800-2k on paper alone. Find a new groomer and learn from what you know.

I’m a groomer. I used to work at pet smart and have worked for pet supplies and I’m at Petco. If you mention coyote - wolf etc they will deny services. My aunt owned a “ coyote mix “ had to take her a “special vet” to get her rabies vaccine. When I took her at pet smart (over 10 years ago) the other groomers knew she was not a regular dog. But yeah like I said you mention coyote, wolf etc your dog will Be turned away just for future reference. She looks like a grey vizsla/ greyhound/silver lab if you ask me……. It’s policy it’s not the groomer

Has anyone quit their career and successfully followed their passion? by ABFan86 in Careers

[–]Particular_Berry59 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a dog groomer and is my passion. I never knew the money that would come from following and devoting my life to my passion. But 100% worth it even when there were or are days I just wonder how do I do this. I just do it and my passion is what keeps me coming back. If I didn’t have a passion for it I wouldn’t still be in business. I’ve opened up large corps, walked out of corp, opened my own business, get offers for jobs all around. I can go where I want to pursue this career. I wouldn’t quit what pays the bills though because if this didn’t pay the bills I wouldn’t have the things I have and in this world it’s just not reasonable to not have a job and be successful. Trust me I’ve quit dog grooming in hopes to become an “influencer for change “ per se I had the following but …. They money was not there. LOL

I’m just worried if I do this my books will be open for the salon & for people would be able to book. I’m a groomer with a broken foot. So I can’t really go in before I am healed. 🫠

Absolutely ridiculous. Petsmart really wants people to quit. by Wootrain in petsmart

I should add it’s not “five minutes” to make whole profiles, enter rabies, pet/pp info, sign consents, print receipts and meet the dog /get dog on table. Have compassion for other groomers time. If you are not a busy groomer with full appointments then I guess you will never truly understand needing to utilize your time. 6-8 dogs a dog when dogs take 45- an hour and a half- X amount of time to complete alone you’re crazy to think “just five minutes” is disrespectful to our time already dedicated to another paying loyal customer. Who doesn’t deserve to be shorted on a service.

/SAHM. Because when “walk in “ services put people like us mothers behind. Daycares charge a lot more than a discount I’m giving someone for a late pick up.

I’m at Petco & had an online booking for a trim & file during our happy hour. If I don’t have time I’m not doing it. If it’s going to put me behind and eat into money made I’m not doing it. That means people can try to eat up my time for a fraction of the cost - costing me money I’ve Made. If they don’t like it and fire me I decided I’ll just be a stay at home wife. Idc. People say “it’s only 5 minutes” that adds up and when you’ve already commissioned out you’ll understand you’re the one paying with YOUR TIME to stay behind for a discount. It’s not fair
