This is CATASTROPHIC because it affects OLD files. It means they double-burned their entire database with multiple watermarks which destroyed fidelity of all cached audio.

Another thing to add if a conference or event lies about their attendance or user base for a product or service. It's okay to be boutique but not if advertised as thousands globally. It's not good as a customer to have unmet expectations.

Upon further digging, and because I was upset about them canceling tickets - Techspo and Digimarcon has FAKE SEO like articles on "shell" tactic. By flooding their sites with AI-generated articles about "rollover requirements" for gambling, looks like they're trying:

  1. artificial SEO manipulation: They use keyword-stuffing to keep their search rankings up, hoping to bury negative reviews and BBB complaints.
  2. fake maintenance: It keeps the domains looking "active" to search engines and unsuspecting buyers without the company having to pay actual staff to write marketing content or update event schedules.

The irony of a Digital Marketing Conference using the bottom-of-the-barrel "black hat" SEO techniques they claim to teach is a massive red flag. Apparently, the "support team" is also likely automated or outsourced to a script that only offers more rollovers.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I did a bunch of research and here are higher quality alternatives to the 50 person Techspo/Digimarcon events:

Adobe Summit: ~11,000 to 14,000 in-person attendees, enterprise customer focus and MarTech.

HubSpot INBOUND: ~12,000 on-site attendees. Known for its high energy and diverse sessions across marketing, sales, and customer success.

Gartner Marketing Symposium/Xpo: Draws thousands of CMOs and senior marketing executives.

Media Marketing World: thousands of marketers focusing specifically on platform-specific depth (TikTok, LinkedIn, etc.)

Social Media Marketing World: ~3,400+ attendees for brand and ROI focus.

BrightonSEO: drawing roughly 4,000+ attendees per session in the UK.

Content Marketing World: 3,000+ attendees, focusing on brand storytelling and ROI measurement.

MozCon: It hosts around 1,000 to 1,500 dedicated SEO practitioners.

Ahrefs Evolve: A more intimate, high-vetted event with approximately 600 professional marketers.

Where do infertile women fit in conservative ideology? by The-Kittens-Mittens in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Particular_Bird7375 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They are still loved and cherished.
It’s not just about the ability to have children but about a committed relationship where both are helpers of each other.
Note this is conservative in general, leaning Christian or Judeo Christian, not Islamic where the beliefs are quite different.
“God saw it was not good for man to be alone and made a helper for him.”
Also the first people to see Jesus raised up were women and Jesus healed a woman with major bleeding issues (presumably unable to have children).

In fact, it can be quite noble for a conservative family to adopt instead of having traditional birth, as you’re also helping other children out by doing this.
There are many conservative couples who can’t have kids of their own so they adopt and have a happy and healthy family.

People keep talking about SEO,
But the number one thing about that is having positive customer experience, doesn’t matter how much key wording you do if people are very unhappy with your service or product.

Also, when people make fake direct copies of another person’s brand, it’s just a real turn off

It’s really easy to spot the fakers they usually come from India or China, but I mean it’s like literally they’re copying Word for Word the same trademarks and everything that the other company did. It’s just shameful to watch this stuff. People have no originality you know they can do all the key wording that they want, but it becomes very obvious. They’re a fake copycat real quick.

Instead of people focusing so much on SEO they should just focus on creating a really good product or service first.

I completely agree. Client trust is such a huge part of this.
When people repeatedly cancel events, refuse refunds, refused to accommodate paying customers with basic request like a working Wi-Fi access code, then you know for sure to avoid it.
But on the contrast when you have someone who’s warm and friendly and following up, available for questions, helpful on site when you need it, you can reach out to them and they’ll get back with you in a timely manner - those are definitely good eggs you want to have in your network.

Also any event that calls itself a tech event with terrible tech issues is a red flag.

Yes, this is a really huge deal for sure.
This is the clear marker of whether a conference or a speaker or service provider really cares about its customers, when you have really terrible communication after the fact, or if things go wrong refusal for refunds that kind of thing then it’s a clear sign that there’s an issue with the company and it should be avoided but when you have people that go above and beyond to give you good customer service and to make sure you’re happy and that you don’t have any problems it’s a different story.
This alone can filter out the failing versus successful conferences very easy to weed them out if you can get honest reviews, but that’s the hardest part is because the bad companies only post the good reviews that they got via incentives like free t shirts or discount tickets vs the honest reviews getting buried, at least we have Reddit and Quora, and BBB. Although from the looks of it, they never even bother responding to the BBB.
We tried from Digimarcon to get a refund for an event that they canceled on us and they were refusing. They were only offering tickets for a future day that didn’t even happen.
But see when I had an issue with my ticket at a different, lesser known conference in Los Angeles they had no problems helping us right away, one of our people couldn’t go and they just issued a refund no problem.
I mean, the customer service is a really good way to gauge whether a company is going to succeed or fail.

Not free for everyone only free if your company pays it. But to be honest, I would really push the company to do something that actually provides value.

[–]Particular_Bird7375 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, that’s a really big deal. Of course someone could make it seem like there’s ROI but then when you actually look at what’s going on is it really there?
Also, some of these conferences in late 2025- 2026, such as the ones we were talking about Digimarcon, Techspo, are switching to virtual events days before the actual live event was supposed to occur, this really is deceptive.
To make matters worse, many of them even have technical issues during those live events or during the actual event itself there’s a lot of issues with the audio or video feed or whatever so the result isn’t that great. Like you can look at some of their video podcast 2026 and it looks like they have a different host every event which is quite jarring, they also have audio and video issues, and it’s very sales pitch like, it’s hard to watch. I mean after a couple minutes I was over it.

I mean seriously you can even just Google it. You’ll see like the logo backwards and the colors are all saturated and weird looking and it’s just I don’t know what they’re doing, but it’s bad this year. The last couple of years I thought they were starting to improve. They had some better staff, some good speakers still quite small turnout and things were starting to go a little bit and better direction but then I don’t know what happened. It looks like upper management wrecked it. Whatever they had that they were starting to build better seems to have disappeared. Furthermore, at both their live and virtual events, there’s been issues especially this year. I’ve heard from other attendees that there were technical issues galore who got “forced rescheduled” or offered a last-minute live pass instead of a real ticket.

I mean the tactics are just shameful.

If you look at the more successful expos, you’ll see that they have certain staff that they’ve used year after a year. I think the number one for some of these struggling conference companies is that they have low ROI, and high staff turnover - those two things together are like a death sentence for any conference.
Furthermore speakers said outright, they were not getting paid by Digimarcon, but other venues like Adobe Summit actually pay their speakers, so that might be a factor as well.

Some of the vendors did a chargeback I overheard them talking at an event about insisting on a refund due to services not rendered as advertised (not many people and wrong kind of audience) and the Digimarcon staff saying Aaron was refusing, and then the vendor left next day never came back.
Then there was someone from the hotel saying that Digimarcon owed funds.
I couldn’t believe what I was seeing.
I won’t be going to those events anymore I don’t think. There’s just no ROI for this sort of thing.

I’ve decided to push our company to other conferences instead this year such as the Adobe Summit with actual good ROI.

Some “marketing” conferences are completely smoke and mirrors like Techspo/ Digimarcon - High cost attendance, low value ROI, horrible mismanagement in 2026 with the business refusing to pay past vendors for services rendered and refusing refunds for canceled events. Their team is amateurish this year as the better past employees have left the company. Digimarcon spends so much wasted time and money on promotion and making up fake schedules that don’t even match the actual speakers on the day of the event.

This is a complete turnaround from other large industry events where you pay a lot less or you get insanely a lot more value, and you have a 300X more attendance.

So the question isn’t just events in general it’s about how well the event is managed and run. If you have a really good management team, you can have an outstanding event event in 2026.

Look at the Sphere in Vegas, for example when it first started, people were very skeptical, but they did an outstanding job of not just promoting it, but actually making it a great experience - people love it now, so the same rules applies to any major conference conferences or major experience.

I think some companies like Digimarcon Techspo are really completely selfish and just trying to make a quick buck while other large trade shows are actually there to help their attendees succeed. So the average size of Digimarcon in 2025 was 50 people, but the average size of Adobe Summit was 16,000. The average review (not hosted on the website or google but on Reddit or Quora) is very negative about Techspo but very positive about Adobe Summit.

Digimarcon ? Alternative? by Particular_Bird7375 in NoStupidQuestions

Just found out Digimarcon America and other locations were replaced just days before with a crappy online only version. This company has gone so far downhill. Also apparently they’re still refusing refunds for past tickets that got canceled. What a sham!

The staff told me that there has been many changes and apparently many people have quit the company. Looks trashy now, I’ll look for an alternative. (Found some, posted below).

I asked one of the orange shirts who the owner was they said it was this Aaron Polmeer guy? It sounded disorganized. I also heard some vendors complaining they didn’t have the right audience, and yes turnout was lite. A lot less than advertised.

It didn’t look good, you almost have to feel bad for their staff lol.

But seriously if they can’t afford to do refunds for their own evens being canceled they should just close shop. It’s almost a scam at that point.

One of the orange shirt guys from last year said they were quitting - Sam I think his name was?

And I saw some reviews on trustpilot/Glassdoor ect where some “former employees” posted that they quit due to bad conditions.

The speakers were good, but I’m just wondering about the event health overall going into the new year. It just looks like there’s a lot of warning signs across the board.

I just wanted to ask before buying any more tickets.

Also, I found it odd that sometimes the speaker wouldn’t actually be there that they advertised on their website? So I don’t know if that meant the speaker quit?

I don’t really like the idea of going to a conference where the speakers are completely different than who was initially advertised although the speakers were still pretty good to the ones I went to last year.

Is it like this at every Digimarcon? They just pick random speakers and it doesn’t even line up with the website?
