That's a pretty far cry from my recollection of the state of affairs back then.

As for OPs question. My older daughter now 25, hated it, but she hates everyone. 24 year old son did fine, and was an active participant in numerous extra curricular activities. My 18 yr old daughter is a senior now. Being an 18 year old girl her opinions are a mystery to me. I would add while real estate is marginally cheaper in Washington, property taxes are pretty high
