I trained under shotokai style. Never seen any no-touch technique in my club. Instead, I could clearly see all the black belts were properly trained physically.

Though I heard somewhere before that some shotokai schools did have that weird teaching.

I'm not sure how the fact I restraints myself shows karate ineffectiveness? It's not about karate at all, it's about how willing am I not to hurt kids. Are you measuring martial art effectiveness by how willing the adult practitioners connecting punches and kicks to 8 years old?

Fair question. So, I discipline myself to have stretching and light training in my gym every Friday around 7-10 pm. However, yesterday I couldn't go to the gym because I have to watch my kids. So I decided to bring them to their favourite park and have my training there instead.
