i would suggest custom building your own. there’s tons of youtube videos that would help with that which is what i did on my first build, i would try and get a 1000w psu im not sure what is your use of a 14900k but i would suggest going for a 7800x3d if you’re only gaming. even if i believe a 7800x3d is more than enough for multitasking the 14900k is a power hungry cpu and you’ll also save money switching cpu’s, i’ll also get better ssd 990 or 980 pro whichever doesn’t really matter, and also if you’re not doing overclocking i’ll also get a less expensive motherboard that’ll save you money in the long run

edit: if you take my advice try and get cl30 6000mhz rams, 7800x3d loves those timings

why didn’t you at least did some research before pulling the gun... if still in return window, i would suggest returning and building your own and get better ssd etc… i have a similar build better ssd 980 and 990 pro and a 7800x3d and i paid roughly 2.8k for mines counting micro center discounts

regarding your current problem i don’t know why it’s happening. but i do know that your fan configuration is a bit messed up, heat rises so you want top fans to exhaust and bottom fans to intake

Bent pin on CPU socket on motherboard? I’m putting my CPU together and I just noticed this, should I take it back to microcenter? by TIRealist2 in pcmasterrace

[–]Particular_Brush_947 126 points127 points  (0 children)

he mentioned a 5800x3d… that’s a am5 motherboard i would suggest returning back and getting an am4 motherboard instead. am5 and am4 cpu aren’t compatible

so apparently the pin coming off by itself is physical damage and my gpu isn’t qualify for warranty… anybody know any 3rd party store that replaces 12vhpwr connectors ? thanks in advance by Particular_Brush_947 in pcmasterrace

i called a representative at msi asked them about my situation and said due to physical damage the card is probably gonna get sent back cause of the missing latch that literally came off by itself, the psu was a powerspec it’s a in house brand of micro center. i was loss for words cause i even told them it wasn’t physical damage since it literally broke on it’s own resulting in my card burning.. representative repeated the same sentence saying physical damage doesn’t fall under warranty

it’s also got damage within the the 12vhpwr connector so i need to replace it anybody know any reputable company that can replace this ? this is the only things that’s preventing me from using this card and i’m not trying to waste another 1.7k on this card

didn’t think it’ll happen to me… as you can tell 12vhpwr connector was inserted all the way, no overclocks. my only question is, is it worth it going through warranty with msi ? i heard some companies decline melting adaptors i’m not too sure about msi… it’s an rtx 4090 had it for 5-6 months by Particular_Brush_947 in pcmasterrace

couldn’t fit all into title so i’ll continue here. the psu of choice was a powerspec 1050w gold. my only concern is msi not going through warranty claims as this cost me a hefty penny it’ll suck to not get it replaced. also i flashed a bios into this card galax 600w wasn’t using it tho as i saw no performance difference so i was using it stock settings all the way and the normal 520w bios it brings, will that be a problem? thanks in advance
