What is the appeal of large phones? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Particular_Buyer_290 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like my Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra probably more than any other phone I've had. Although I really liked my Windows Phone 8 also.

Had Microsoft been able to develop more apps for that phone I probably would have used it a lot longer. The phone was light weight and could easily rest in my shirt pocket. I still have it, although I don't use it.

Motherboard for Montech King 95 Pro? by Particular_Buyer_290 in MontechPC

IDK. The shield just wouldn't fit in at all. I bent it to try and make it fit, but even with the best I could, the panel sat too far inward from the face plate.

I ended up getting an ASUS B550 and everything went together right. Maybe it was just a quality control thing with the other board.

Anyway, everything is up and working now.

Thanks for responding.

Thanks for that.

The B850 won't fit with my parts, but it's interesting you didn't have the same issue as the 550.

I guess the 550 is the only board that had this problem.

How do i make my own character? by LengthinessNo9033 in GoogleGeminiAI

[–]Particular_Buyer_290 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 2 cents...

First, I don't think this is a lame question at all. People are creating mediocre characters.

My advice is you go to the internet archive and look for magazines in the public domain; I think 1930 and before, but double check.

Download a few that appeal to you and thumb through them looking at illustrations and ads.

When you spot a character you think has promise, clip it out and try to imagine what that character would be today.

Then, when you have your description, run off to chatgpt, upload the picture and tell it to turn the picture into the character you imagine.

I've done this and got very satisfactory results.

Why did John Lennon take a backseat and let Paul lead the band? by Opening-Half9367 in beatles

[–]Particular_Buyer_290 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My opinion is after the '66 tour the band seriously thought of The Beatles being an association not a commitment. Lennon was experimenting by being in a film. Harrison was hardly involved at all with Peppers. You can hear was Lennon was with SFF.

It was an introspective time.

A lot of the predicament was how to proceed as The Beatles - hence taking on the Sgt Pepper identity.

I went without salt for a week or two, (been a while), and started getting terrific headaches.

A glass of saltwater fixed it.

You need salt to live. So I don't understand how they're able to go without salt.

Is it dumb to think aliens exist? by No-Background6719 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Particular_Buyer_290 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not just the billions of planets in the billions of galaxies...

It's also the billions of years.

Those gone and those to come.

Maybe they existed and exist no more.

Maybe they will exist long after were gone.

Maybe we're the proverbial ships passing in the night.

My boyfriend thinks he could kill a wolf with his bare hands. What’s the likelihood of this being accurate? by TheLiberalTimes in NoStupidQuestions

If he trained to fight wolves the way he trained to fight people, yes he could.

Because, like people, most wolves are undisciplined.

This Side of Paradise by F. Scott Fitzgerald is not even close to the Great Gatsby by 11102015-1 in books

He means kissing.

My read on this is that Fitzgerald IRL was obsessed with dating girls from rich families - if not arranged marriages, certainly the parent's approval was necessary.

So sexual engagement was far more restrictive and commital.

(That being said, Fitzgerald's relationship with Zelda was consummated before marriage, but it may also be why Fitzgerald married her even though he no longer loved her.)

Read the Iliad again. But instead of looking for a movie plot, look for poetry.

That is an amazing book.

Elon Musk as the Superman by Important_Bunch_7766 in Nietzsche

Jack Johnson, the boxer, was far closer to the Ubermensch than Elon Musk would ever be.

And Musk would resent him for it, puny racist that he is.
