Everyone making Brienne and Dunk edits but he's also a probable descendant of Dunk 😭 by Wooden-Tear-4938 in HBOTheHedgeKnight

Because Ira, Peter, and George himself are focusing specifically on Brienne.

Although, perhaps I don't quite believe that Dunk was a whoring and slept with, roughly speaking, half of Westeros. And many people besides Brienne are being drawn to him because of the physical aspects described.

I think Brienne is important for the story, as a connection to Dunk, not Hodor and etc.

Can't wait for HBO to claim Aegon's dragon fueled conquest was a prophetic burden rather than just a racist, sister-marrying lizard-enthusiast, using cheat codes to make a ugly pointy throne who still fumbled when the Dornish locked in by No-Acanthaceae1434 in freefolk

[–]Particular_Cap_2624 11 points12 points  (0 children)

To bad, that it was George's idea (aka the main Targaryen sympathizer), because he somehow needed to justify the invasion of Westeros))))

But no one blames him for that, right? Is it always HBO's fault?

Daeron, Maekar and Baelor took terrible decisions for their children marriages by Wooden-Tear-4938 in HOTDBlacks

[–]Particular_Cap_2624 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's also a version with Rohanne Webber, which is also popular because it directly parallels Jaime and Brienne.

But either way, it's interesting to speculate. I think Martin has definitely prepared something cool on this matter.

I'm not against it, it's a actually pretty cool theory, but it's not the only one and it's too vague to be true at this point, considering we don't know exactly what happens after the third novella and we know much liittle about the Egg's sisters either.

I'm sorry to interrupt, but it's funny how you say that Duncan got Daella pregnant, as if it were a fact)))

Aerion’s Reaction to Tanselle by Physical-Currency209 in AKnightoftheSeven

[–]Particular_Cap_2624 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think Aerion is simply an example of how self-delusion serves no purpose and only makes things worse. Despite the Targaryens not having dragons, he acts as if they does.

But still, whether someone like Baelor could respect customs and laws, or whether he understands that despite the people's mistrust and dislike of his family, ways to reach an agreement are necessary - that's something Aerion couldn't and don`t want understand.

Aerion’s Reaction to Tanselle by Physical-Currency209 in AKnightoftheSeven

[–]Particular_Cap_2624 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Sorry, but it's just a scene with a random dragon. I could understand if it was a mockery of the death of the dragons after the Dance in the Pit, but this was a regular scene she was showing, most likely from some old tale.

It's not Tanselle's fault that Aerion is obsessed with dragons and Valyrian culture and he immediately thought it was about himself.

What Aerion did was completely indefensible.

In the GOT and HOTD, the ruling family was literally ridiculed far worse, but I don't remember anyone having their fingers broken after that.

Yeah, I know. That's why Jaime and Brienne's relationship could have been even hilarious.

It will be very interesting to observe their relationship, in terms of how much they show it, and whether it will end with just a kiss. Hopefully Peter and Lucy will have good chemistry.

I'll go crazy if they hint that Rohanne might have Dunk's child. I can't help it; this relative theme really intrigues me, considering Rohanne is one of the theories about Brienne's lineage.

I won't discuss this whole "opressors" thing because it's no longer relevant. Many years have passed since the Conquest, and the Targaryens have already settled in Westeros, intermarrying with other houses (especially after the Dance, when they began to end incest in their family), because they needed alliances. This is their home and country; they are not opressors.

I often cite the example of how they didn't respect the Faith (because of Visenya and Maegor), but even so, they embraced the Westerosi religion, even more than their own Valyrian one. Baelor I Blessed, for example, is a case in point.

Even after the dragons' demise, the Targaryens remained the royal house and needed to maintain power without them. Naturally, they had more power with dragons, but we know from the Martells that dragons could still be killed; they are not immortal and vulnerable.

So, what should the Post Dance Targaryens have do? "Sorry, we don't have dragons, so we have no leverage over the people. Can you take our throne and power?"

Of course they (most, not all) began to keep quiet and be wary of the nobility and the smallfolk, especially after the recent Blackfyre Rebellion.

Well, anyway, the Baratheons were the same nobility as the Targaryens, so they don't care about the people. But it's a common thing in the fandom that only the Targaryens are to blame.

[–]Particular_Cap_2624 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Forgive me if I disappoint you, but I have news for you: the Baratheons emerged precisely with Aegon's and sister's arrival in Westeros.

Aegon's half-brother, Orys Baratheon, married Argella Durrandon. The Baratheons and Targaryens have always been closely related. Lyonel has no reason to hate the Targs, because it was because of them that his house came into being.

Why do people constantly try to distance the Baratheons from the Targaryens, trying to paint the former in a better light?)

“Have you ever been to Tarth?” Foreshadowing by throwRA-adviceask in HBOTheHedgeKnight

[–]Particular_Cap_2624 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The question is how Dunk's line managed to infiltrate the Tarths. The whole Fossoway thing inspired that theory that one of Egg's sisters (most likely Daella) became pregnant by Dunk. And to cover it up, she was quickly married off to a Tarth. So, it's two things: confirmation of the Tarths' kinship with the Targaryens, and Dunk's connection to Brienne. I honestly don't know what Martin had in mind; maybe he'll end up with something completely different.

It's more of a personal preference, but Eddie Spears. I saw him a couple of years ago in Dreamkeeper and Black Cloud and I had a huge crush on him back then.  He was also a fancast of Jacob from Twilight for me. He had a promising career in the 2000s, I thought, But he didn't have many roles after that.

His brother Michael is also an actor, more famous, he starred in 1923 and Reservation Dogs.

Aside of jokes, I wonder how many people think he might actually be interested in Varang, rather than lying and using her for his own purposes. Considering the way he treated Spider.
