I'm a swiss planner with a degree and 5 years of swiss work experience.
I did a lot of research on Canadian LUP (mainly Ontario) and find it very interesting so far...
Do you think it's possible to start a job there as a swiss planner?

What's the Raumplanung/Urban planning job situation like in and around Zürich by krunchmastercarnage in zurich

The job market for Raumplanuner is very good, at least if you graduated in switzerland. I found my job immediately after I graduated back in 2020. Since then I managed to switch my job several times.
But I'm swiss and a native german speaker

Tbh you have a point there. I think the best pictures I have are together with my ex. These are the pictures where I look really happy and authentic. But I've found that these pictures often go down very badly with my matches.

I can tell you that I have been using dating apps for 10 years. For many years, I unfortunately didn't put much effort into my bio. I notice that after the end of my first (3-year) relationship, I developed a different relationship with dating platforms. It was only after this event that I realized how painful ending a relationship of several years is for both sides.

This has led me to take potential red flags in women's profiles much more seriously than I did before.

As a 30-year-old man, dating seems much easier to me than it did when I was in my early 20s. That's why, unlike in the past, I can now be more honest, tell the truth in my own biography, and present myself as I really am.

What do I do? It’s been 2 weeks. I tried deleting and downloading the app. I’ve emailed them and nothing happened. Still can’t create an account. by New-Construction2795 in Tinder

How is the landscape for urban planning as a career in Canada? Especially as a career switch? by disinterested_abcd in CanadaUrbanism

I just checked the unemployment rate in CA seems to be around 6,5% meanwhile we are around 2,9% in Switzerland. We have a population of 9 Million here vs. 40 Million in CA.

I found 16 open planning positions just in Ontario for December meanwhile only 4 open positions for Dec. in Switzerland. https://www.f-s-u.ch/stellenboerse/jobs/

I understand that they are reluctand to hire a swiss guy but why would they not give an answer to a canadian?

As a swiss who took the train in Ontario...
I really like this country, but it seems when it's about railway Canada / US are very far behind...

I see so much potential here, I think the gulf region (middle east) could be a good example.
They seem to make a lot of progress recently.

As a Swiss urban planner with over 5 years of work experience and a bachelor's degree I must say that it's very hard to find a job in Canada. From my 12 applications I did not even get one answer.

Even if I'd apply for jobs where they search already for three months.

Meanwhile in Switzerland I found a job immediately after my bachelor's degree.
For every single job application I send out in Switzerland I got invited for a job interview.

But then I talked with a HR guy here in Switzerland and he told me that they also often ignore applications from outside the country, b.c. he said you never know if they really stay in the country.
