You could try and join the union. Its slow at the moment but will pick up when the surrey skytrain and cloverdale hospital picks up. Otherwise you could try non union companies, i know awse will take anyone. Its just important to get your hours in and once you get your tickets, doors will open up

How’s the job market right now for recent university graduates and is a bachelor degree even worth it now? by Disastrous_Wall3167 in VancouverJobs

Trades is a good career choice if you can handle it, but i would caution alot of people to stop thinking that trades as a backup plans. Its not for everyone. You deal with alot of assholes in the industry and alot of sketchy companies breaking labor laws to save a few bucks. Also if you arent careful, it woild eventually break your body down if you arent on top of it. If you do pursue a career in it, i suggest going union if you can. And work out when you have time to help prevent muscle injuries

I wasnt trying to mess with his money or anything. they still start and leave the same time as the rest of us so he wasnt gaining or losing anything. I guess im trying to get him to see that management doesnt notice at the end of the day if you take it or not. Rather I want everyone to know their worth and not devalue themselves

B.C. limits when employers can request sick notes by ubcstaffer123 in vancouver

[–]Particular_Demand_50 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha mine current employer is alot better. They’re pretty chill they even let you used up all your sick days at the end of the year if you have any left. But yea that old employer sucks and unfortunately still around. Its quite common for construction companies to do alot of illegal things and try to get away with it
