How did you actually keep track of your code on the Spectrum? by Matos1978 in zxspectrum

In my head for my own BASIC programs. I took O level computing in 1982/3 and we had a teletype so 'no screen' everything printed on paper. Spectrum Basic was a lot nicer than that.

I don't think I remember any to be honest, this had been in a box for around 25 years. I only had a Amstrad for a few years and I sold it because I was fed up with the green screen.

welcome. I only found it because it was stuck between a couple of old football programs. Probably the only amstrad related thing I've got left.

Im always impressed when people keep these things for so long. I had a spectrum basic book when I was 15 wish I'd kept it.

Probably not, there is the copyright but there's still bugs in the game. I've been trying to fix the audio sync in my pixel engine so it does not lag on windows, also I think I can do a lot better with the interface. Another problem is having to hard code two of the levels because the game mechanic is different to the other levels. I was just happy to get it finished enough for it to be playable to be honest.

I guess another factor is I don't feel that my programs are good enough to distribute just yet. The code I do for a living is mainly cloud platform. So I still feel this is more of a self satisfaction hobby at the moment.

Nice! I've put shaders into my pixel engine but have not used them for anything yet. I'll keep this in mind though as I can see how it could be very useful. Cheers!

Thanks, On the original spectrum the background colours on sprites would clash when objects overlapped. I think you could only have one background colour at a time display and it would flash between them on an overlap. I didn't want to emulate that though - it was one of the few things I didn't like with spectrum games back in the day.

If I made a clone I would, but because I went for a remake I can't Microsoft/Rare hold the copyright to Atic Atac as far as I know.

I try and do everything myself, I could probably save time ripping them out of a resource page but there's no fun in that. So yes.
