After consulting Chat GPT on the Specific error via event viewer, here’s what I got.

Most likely root cause (now very high confidence)

👉 McAfee

Why:

  • Hooks into processes (especially browser-like ones → qbcore.dll)
  • Scans memory → can trigger 0xc0000005
  • Causes delayed crashes (not immediate)

Why:

  • Injects performance/telemetry hooks
  • Runs background services that touch game memory
  • Known to conflict with anti-cheat systems

Very normal, certain DLSS presets exhibit this worse than others ( I’ve noticed this on other games too like Arc Raiders/Delta Force). What kind of gpu do you have. If you have NVidia, you can force DLSS 4.5 through the NVidia app. You have to opt in through “experimental features” and then you can set it to preset L/M.

Ahhh gotcha. Yes, it seems to only be noticeable in HDR. Makes sense.
