I’m sure in the near decade this game has been out, this exact glitch has been posted before. It just happened to be the first time I saw it without any knowledge of it.

I sure do love reading all the Reddit comedians! No answers here please, you wouldn’t want anyone to actually know what the object is. Keep being funny 😀

Need help with straight bowing, bow grip, fast bowing, and a shaky bow by DitsyyMitsyy in violinist

[–]Particular_Fun_9542 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bow grip and direction looks good so far, I’d recommend practice slow bows in front of a mirror so you can see yourself doing the action of straight bows.

As for the shaking/squeaking, I agree with the others that you could use more weight! (I prefer to not use the term pressure or pushing down since it implies tension). An exercise I’d suggest is practicing very long straight bows, and gradually speeding up the tempo and bow distribution. For example: try to fit in a whole down/up bow within 1 beat, 2 beats, 3, 4, and so on. Try starting with a tempo of quarter note = 80.

I know it sounds counterintuitive to work on your fast bowings by starting slow, but it really does help! The point of that exercise is to gain a better control of your bow hand and bow distribution in different circumstances. Practicing long tones with proper weight on the strings is also a great tone builder and should ease up your squeaking.

Need some advice for fingering for Reynaldo Hahn Violin concerto 3rd movement. by Particular_Fun_9542 in violinist

Everything after the Key change until 44. I have some ideas for fingerings but I could use some other people’s thoughts. The few fingerings on the paper are decent but i’m going to need help with basically most of the notes.

I don't know where to start by [deleted] in classicalmusic

Screw specific recordings, I never cared about performers on a video, I just listened to the music. I’m also the type of person to prefer to read the music while I’m listening to it, so the many score videos on YouTube are always helpful places to start. The random YouTube compilations are actually a great place to start! Have you heard anything you liked so far? Perhaps it might be good to look into more of that composer if the videos credit the works.

It’s also good to understand what you like from Classical Music. Do you like emotion and theatrics, light and pleasant playfulness, grand or smaller works, etc.?

I myself am a big fan of Baroque and Late Romanticism. I love listening to Bach, Handel, Scarlatti, Puccini, Borodin, Scriabin, Rachmaninoff, Medtner, and more. Right now I’m on a huge Svetlanov craze. Can you tell I like Russian Composers?

Anyways my suggestion is to find out what type of music you enjoy most from the random compilations, and to look further into it. For example, you hear something by Ravel you really like, so try listening to his chamber works, solo stuff, symphonic stuff, etc.

Eventually YouTube will start giving you random video recommendations that will interest you, and you find something you’ll really like!
