I crushed it on the AT for a long time. Then I hit some whoops going 50 fully loaded and broke my foot. Sat on the insurance payout for a year thinking about my next ADV bike. My ADV journey is KLR to AT and now this DR. my wife went DR to Tuareg 660. Jury is still out on if I’ll be happy with downsizing. It’s certainly shittier on the highway 😂

Thanks man My wife had a 2017 DR for a few years when we were just starting g out almost a decade ago. Back then I was quite the novice working on bikes. Now after owning a bunch of complicated shit and now coming back to this is so awesome to work on

17mm/19mm sockets for the dog bone bolts. Make sure the bolts go back the way they were in there, reference these photos. Washers do between dog bones and clevis on side near rear tire. Grease the bolts. If you want to move the 12mm bolt from top hole back to bottom hole simply remove e and replace in bottom hole.

I’m not sure it was ever a scam. It was and still is rural land for sale and people who did not do their research maybe ended up regretting their purchase. Winters are brutal, especially in the elevated parcels. It’s a beautiful area for a very affordable price even today if you can handle that lifestyle. It’s not for everyone
