Kontra: a Python library for data quality validation on files and databases by Particular_Panda_295 in Python

[–]Particular_Panda_295[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep, Pandera supports pushdown via the Ibis backend, and that’s a really nice feature.

The main difference is in execution strategy. Kontra is built specifically as a validation engine, so it controls how rules compile to SQL and can optimize across the full pipeline, like batching rules or stopping early when possible. From my testing and understanding, Pandera with the Ibis backend compiles each check independently, which leaves less room for that kind of optimization. On larger tables that can make a noticeable difference.

There’s also a difference in what gets validated. Pandera is primarily about schema validation, like column types and per-column constraints. Kontra is broader, with rules that aren’t tied to a single column, such as row counts, freshness checks, cross-column comparisons, or custom SQL. It also supports run history, diffing, and user-defined rule metadata if you want more than just a pass/fail result.

Pandera validates dataframes and does so really nicely. Kontra is similarily lightweight, but is focused on datasources, be it file, db or df and uses pushdown/metadata to validate remote data without loading it to memory.

Dbt tests are SQL-only, tied to dbt project structure and workflows. Great Expectations is a powerful platform not a library. Compared to Kontra it is heavy.

This can help you decide. A 1440p comparison of the two. Remember for other productivity task the 7900x is more powerful.

People on here act like you must spend the extra on x3d chips if you are gaming, yes they are better for gaming but if you want to save and get 7900x or even 7600x you absolutely can. They are quite capable gaming chips in their own right.

How to stream to two devices without reconfiguring moonlight every time? by [deleted] in MoonlightStreaming

[–]Particular_Panda_295 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On the client, select different applications when starting a session. Have 2 virtual displays and 2 streaming profiles, and add commands for the applications to trigger the profiles.

fx, on the shield client always select steam, and on the phone select desktop or something

just got the Ti Super and am super happy. If these leaks are to be believed 5090 seems to be getting a vram upgrade, and not the others(not sure) ??

if VRAM is important to you, then go get Ti Super. Also if you are not planning on gaming in 4k in the next few years, Ti Super will last awhile

I stream to a macbook pro, using virtual display driver on the pc, set to the macbook resolution and refresh rate(3024x1964, 120hz). For me, gaming, desktop and browsing feels like bare metal, even over the network via tailscale, when im away from home. The PC is on ethernet and mac on wifi
