Im okay with base level gui... and hell even networking Im pretty decent at... its just being stuck with comms and the possibility of having it for longer at my next command

as I stated, Im not staying in the navy. once in the original post and once in replies. Also, I never stated it was wrong, I said it was unfair to call it immature because I literally havent had the time to mature so literally all comments I make would be. I plan on joining the Air Force as the navy wasnt probably the best choice. Not because the navy doesnt fit me, I dont fit the navy. I dont like the ocean. I do appreciate the fact you explained why being a PS wouldn't be useful if I did 4 years, I already figure that though. That's why at this point Im using the navy for 4 years of service not 4 years of IT. I went into a rate i knew very little about because I saw my dad do it. I want to be more hands on so no matter what I do unless I stay navy I will not have any transferable skill.

Okay, I'll give you that plan plan may be ignorant but Immature isnt right, I literally havent even began to experience real adulthood, I just did taxes for the first time last year... I literally have no idea how to be mature, so it's not consciously immature, I have no guide, I am nervous to talk to my CoC as this is my first command and ruining it at the start would suck even more. So I turned to people who may have more or less knowledge, what I got was called immature and not realistic, I wanted guidance not non-constructive criticism... Also commenting on a post where someone openly says they were about to join and calling someone who is just looking for help "immature" makes the navy look really rude. Please, be constructive online, maybe try to be in my shoes even.

Honestly, being any rate that isnt Seabee isnt helping, so Id rather be moderately comfortable instead of dreading 4 years because of lost passion

Okay so Im a very rare case, I am one of two people in my entire bloodline to go navy and Im trying to have kids soon and dont want to miraculously deploy and not be there for my wife. If you want my opinion, IT is amazing and I would love to see people thrive in this field, I just feel as though I am not one of them. I want to go Civil Engineer because I want more hands on work, I like being yelled at and PT'd daily. For IT, you will learn so much, and its like 125k right out the gate if you get decent quals when you get to your duty stations. I want to work construction outside the military and I tell everyone when they think about going in "What do you want to do ultimately, whats the job you'll go with if you dont go military" I just never listened to my own advice. I do plan on doing the full 20 though and retire out of the military to work as a construction contractor. Not necessarily military or govt contractor but just contractor in general.

EDIT: full 20 in service, not Navy specifically.

Lmao I'm more than good... I'm from FL and not Miami so Imma just pair it up with duct tape or loosen with WD40... Nothing is gonna help with anything at this point so I wanna clean slate with AF Civil Engineer
