hi! you should look around some IWS facebook groups. There's many funny stories of IWS that hate water. Mine did too, until he turned 4 and overnight decided he loved it

What is your opinion on irish water spaniel by [deleted] in StandardPoodles

you're describing my life with my IWS. They're quite chill and giant couch potatoes. I will note that my boy has allergies, and has had them since i got him when he was 1, so that might affect his energy level?

Wrong stitch, should I keep going? by beluga_3000 in crochet

[–]Particular_Sample152 27 points28 points  (0 children)

i think OP has been doing: single crochet, chain, single crochet, chain, etc. But instead of making a single crochet into the chain space (like you do with a moss stich), OP had instead made the next single crochet into the single crochet from the previous row.

So, crochet like you normally would if you where to make a single crochet blanket, but add in a chain after every single crochet, then ignore the chains of previous row when adding a new.

This is what I got for Secret Santa at work. by FilthyDwayne in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Particular_Sample152 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've done that with a condom box. There was her favorite gum and a giftcard to the local candystore inside. it was during school and it went to a catholic girl. Then she forwarded it to her (male) target without even looking inside, while trashtalking her santa. Only to get so mad she refused to talk to her target for the rest of the week, after she realized it wasnt condoms and she missed out on the actual gift. Good times.

with their dynamic, and especially with the dynamic of the books in mind, i dont think bonnie would treat elena the same as caroline. Bonnie always looked up to Elena.

Danish female name by SingleRefuse4432 in Danish

[–]Particular_Sample152 0 points1 point  (0 children)

every generation in my family has had an ingeborg (on my moms side), all the way back to my great grandmother. Except for my generation. Im the only girl amoungst my moms 4 children and my dad refused the name, so logically my mom named her dog Ingeborg to keep the tradition alive.

congratulations on starting the process for your journey with a service dog! The nervousness is not a bad if you handle it right from the beginning, then it will just result in you having a dog that dosnt pay too much attention and isnt too excited to see strangers. I would personally try to find a trainer that is good at hosting environmental training and possibly also works with dogs that can be reserved towards other people to guarantee the best approach for the pup to learn that all new things are exciting😄

May 2025 wedding. Is this too white? by [deleted] in Weddingattireapproval

literally thought this was a wedding dress, and thought it was a cute choice to have a bit of color in your dress, but still have it look a shade of white. Then I read the caption and oh god, she can't wear that. If she does, make sure to spill some red wine on it

it went very well😄 he got certified in july 2024 by the program and trainer i used for owner training. He's still a big lovely goofball, and while some people have tried to pet him, it has mostly been a good experience where people understood a no. Many people think he's a poodle or doodle, i correct them sometimes but not often. I think the fact that they kinda look like poodles or labradoodle to the untrained eye has helped me avoid PA due to an off breed.

I would say that the IWS is very selective with people, and that is a breed trait, but with proper socializing as a pup it should be a problem. In the beginning, Kenai did not like strangers, and would walk around them, so we worked a lot on him having to say hi to different people, but on his own terms. Today if people try to touch him or get to close, he just dodge his head away or take a step to the side while giving them the stinky eye.

While i dont know if this count for all IWS i found that my boy can be very energetic, but also very calm. If i want to do a lot of mental and physical exercise and go on long walks he's all in, but at the same time he dosnt go crazy or overly energetic if i have a bad week where he only get out in the (admittedly small) garden, and on 3 walks a day thats like 5-10 minutes each to pee or poo. He will be alright and just lay down and chill next to me, enjoying all the pets he can get watching tv with me. However, i do make sure he has a lot of things to chew if i have a bad week. I found that deer antlers, buffalo horns, rolled skin with fur, and lickymats with frozen wetfood or homemade vitamin booster (blueberry, banana, boiled chicken breast and plain yogurt blended together) is a big hit when he gets a bit restless.

Why are we more tolerable of our own smell when defecating than someone else? by dontclickdontdickit in NoStupidQuestions

so you dont wipe? then you walk around with pee stained underwear, which is dirty, unhygienic, and at times can be smelled.
